    INTRODUCTION

The divine being or soul, upon descending to this earthly plane, breaks itself into parts, and the human being emerges from them. One of these, the mind, takes control over all the other and, through its mechanisms, sets a program on our lives, binding us into the «time dimension»¹, filtering reality through appearance, and interpreting existence and its many possible experiences in a subjective and individualistic way; literally turning each head into a world of its own. We have to stop its dominion here and now, knowing and transcending it, allowing ourselves to reach and reintegrate all the other parts; and as an already aligned human being, born again to a unified plane of consciousness. Only then we will be able to actually perceive ourselves in the present, establishing contact with our true selves and experiencing life in all its fullness and essence.

This book has as its aim to introduce the reader with a method and a set of tools and indications to use it that, by means of serious personal commitment, can gradually take towards self-knowledge.

Some years ago, while on his own inner quest, this author picked up some ideas and recommendations from the book Salud Espiritual (Spiritual Healing)², by Doctor Susan Gregg. Its simplicity both captivated and moved me, and I felt compelled to try and test its effectiveness.

When put to actual application, Doctor Gregg’s ideas were complemented with my own; those ideas emerged and were incorporated along the way, transforming themselves and ending up in the form they are presented here. This simple program and tools leading to self-knowledge are applicable to both men and women in any stage of their lives past adolescence.

I was amazed with what I perceived step by step throughout the whole process. Gradually achieving concrete and tangible results: getting to know myself and the way I am actually constituted. Realizing the protagonist role of my mind in every-day life and perceiving, experimenting and comprehending it in order to reintegrate the Being.

Then I met Iván: just like the reader, an individual with personal and spiritual concerns, relentlessly searching and trying to uncover the mysteries of being, of living.

The story presented in this book unfolds precisely around this character who, externally lost in the forest and looking for help, accidentally found my cabin. As he told me about his life, Iván also ended up realizing he was internally lost.

In order to know him, we will start with some words about his life, going all the way through his past and unto his nowadays. We will go both into his weaknesses and failures, as into his strengths and achievements. It is necessary to glimpse into his internal life, such as the turmoil experienced after the death of his father, which led him to perceive other dimensions beyond the mundane and human scope, being his story just another proof that life is not limited to its raw appearance.

These events were the reasons why I became his master, and the previously mentioned method proved to be useful and applicable to his internal development. The process narrated here by Iván’s voice corresponds sequentially and literally to his experience. This way, the reader will get to apprehend, step by step, the results he achieved.

Let’s go now straight ahead into the subject, taking as starting point the reflection at the beginning of this introduction.

If we were to analyze life in its whole, without the boundaries and filters of beliefs, source of our minds, we would conclude that life is in fact surrounded by an all-pervading mystery. On one side, that which is external appears to us as real, even when it is not³; on the other side, that which is internal seems familiar, but when we approach and try to dive into it, we find ourselves amidst an unknown and unexplored world. The factual world we have access to originates thus in our mind, from where we conceptualize and put a label on everything we perceive both from ourselves and from all things around us, using as a frame of reference the beliefs lying in the very same mind. Then, it becomes clear that accessing into our minds is essential to actually know ourselves and succeed in changing our lives.

    SOME EXTERNAL BELIEFS

1.—The images perceived from the outside (the world, our surroundings) are not real in themselves, they are just subjective constructs, set within and by myself, in my brain, from those elements my senses apprehend, my mind interprets and displays about the world on a given situation. We create and believe in said representation, taking it as factual reality.

Truth is that we live in a world from where we are constantly, in the space-time continuum, codifying and shaping all the energy around us:

a).—Rays of light are just vibratory waves traveling through space and, when they reach our eyes, originate this particular sensorial experience we call light. Depending on the frequency of vibrations per second, we will see a different color.

If we receive 400 billion vibrations⁴, objective reality, our brain and senses will create and believe⁵ to ‘see’ the color red. If we receive 800 billion vibrations we will create and believe to see the color purple. This way, we can comprehend that, independently of what our eyes see, everything in nature is energy vibrating in darkness.

b).—Sound is just the apprehension of vibratory waves by our ears, translated precisely into that: sound.

c).—The rest of our senses also interpret our apprehensions in a similar way, and translate them into reality.

d).—The tangible volume of all bodies is occupied 99% by empty space, yet we believe in their solidity and shape; we consider very real what our senses and brain present to us, all the time.

2.—Time also plays games on our beliefs. We believe to be looking at a distant object, such as the sun, which is there where our sight and our brain indicate us. Reality is, it was there eight minutes ago and we are only presencing the image it left behind when occupying that place in that instant. And if we look at the stars at night, the illusion is not then about minutes, but years; we can even look at a star that could be already dead in reality, being there and yet not.

Current research in Quantum Physics takes on this subject when trying to define what is reality in the movie What the bleep do we know?, and in the recently-published book by the same name, where we can read the following:

«When I open my eyes and look around, it is not the world that I see, but the world my human sensory equipment can perceive, the world my belief-system allows me to acknowledge, and the world my emotional core is interested and not-interested in looking at.»

Of the outside world, then, we acknowledge nothing but our own interpretation.

    SOME INTERNAL BELIEFS

1.—We believe to be awake when we go from sleep to vigil, when in reality we are still dormant, reacting automatically to events and our surroundings, according with our programming.

2.—We believe that by having one single body and calling ourselves by only one name, we are one, when in reality, on the inside, we are many in our multifaceted personality.

3.—We believe our self-image is actually our own and defined in the present, without realizing we took it and adapted it since our childhood after the programming we had from birth, and how our parents told us to be. And we keep repeating the pattern, automatically complementing it with each passing moment.

    BELIEFS CONCERNING OTHER PEOPLE

Ego limits the Being, that way managing to create a separating barrier between ourselves and other people.

Consequence of it is that, by differentiating or separating ourselves from the rest, we spend our lives believing to be unique, distinct, and surrounding our lives with fear, competition, control and power-struggle.

Hopefully, the following thought will help in illustrating my point:

I imagine all beings once populating the earth in every historic era, resurging when the end of times come, each one wearing the very same mask that served to disguise them the last time they walked this world. Then, God orders them all to remove their masks at once, and when that happens, the greatest surprise ensues and, right after, the greatest laughter ever would be heard, for the uncovered face is the same in every one of the thousands of millions making up the whole of mankind.

The most important of all insights ever had would take place, and each and every one would understand that:

Whatever one did to another, believing him to be different, he did it to himself.

When you chose not to help your fellow any longer, you ceased to help yourself.

When you ignored, you ignored yourself.

Your relationship with someone else was, in reality, only with yourself. The other was just a mirror, a projection, and everything was coming from you and into you, it was all yours, that is to say, you were interpreting every single thing.

Then, in the deepest of all silences, we will realize that everything in the world was apparently different, but that was only true for contextual effects, since in reality there is only one of us, multiplied millions and millions of times, with the sole purpose of experiencing, via differentiation, a particular aspect of our being in a given moment. For this reason, I conclude the following:

From an intellectual perspective we believe we are many; from a spiritual perspective we perceive we are one.

    CONSTITUTION OF BELIEFS

Your mental programming, made up of an inherent attraction towards working in pending tasks from your previous life, began to co-relate, since you were born, with the behavior you observed in your parents (you were told how you looked and what to do, and you agreed and turned all of that into your beliefs)⁷.

Now, if you want to act different, you must first change yourself: reprogram yourself. Then, can we agree that life is but a dream we create and experience according to our own beliefs?

    It is impossible to
