Chapter 1
The air above filled with silver sprinkles of dust as fairies flew into the air, around in circles, up high then low. The fairies spelled out THANK YOU NIAHM in the skies, which glistened in the bright beams of the sunlight. Standing beneath the fairies was a little old lady dressed in a white dress that flowed behind her, she had silver curly hair with bright blue and pink sparkly butterflies situated in different parts of her hair, she was very pretty. She glanced up and waved up with a little tear of happiness in her eyes.
I have to go home now my job here is done
. Called out the little old lady.
The fairies rushed down and floated above the lady’s head. Thank you Niahm, you saved us and bought us to safety, how can we ever repay you?
There is no need dear you came into trouble and as leader of the kingdom it was my main priority to come and rescue you all, otherwise I wouldn’t have been worthy of the leadership that I had. As long as you promise me that you will turn this ground that you stand upon into something magical for your home, you have fairy dust it wouldn’t take you long to make this into a secure home for you to live in, make it with pride how you want it, it’s all down to you lot, and one last thing before I disappear look after each other.
She said with a grin.
Wait a minute what do you mean when you say the leadership you had, you still are the leader aren’t you?
the entire fairies stared at Niahm waiting in desperation for an answer.
Niahm bowed her head towards the floor and clasped her hands together tightly not wanting to answer the sad looking fairies. Well I’m not the leader any more I am getting to old, there will soon be a new leader I will find one as good as me but younger I promise you. I will however come back and see you all again, the whole kingdom. I haven’t told any of the other creatures or little people who live here, you are the first to know. I don’t want any fuss.
The clan of fairies gasped with horror. Bu. Buuu… .
Started one of the fairies but Niahm put her old wrinkly finger to her lips Ssh, don’t say any thing it is hard enough after 55 years.
The fairies gazed down with tears rolling down each of their cheeks, pulling hankies out from their pockets to wipe them away as they rolled down.
Niahm held out her fragile arms to cuddle them altogether.
Bye, bye now dears, behave and be good.
We will miss you, come back soon, we love you
replied the entire fairies together.
Niahm walked away slowly looking back now and again to wave bye until she disappeared into the deep forest.
We can’t let her go without the kingdom knowing we would never be forgiven if they all found out not to mention a party.
Cried one of the fairies.
Your right, but how?
replied a fairy with blonde curly hair.
It’s easy there are 30 of us we have fairy dust, 15 of us go gather the rest of the kingdom to the other side of the forest, it will take Niahm 1 hour to reach the other side… .
What about the rest of us?
cried an excitable fairy?
If you let me finish, the other 15 will go straight to the other side and do balloons, party food and practise some music, by the time she arrives it will be all set up and a lovely surprise for her, a retirement party.
The entire fairy’s danced about in excitement. They soon split into two teams and headed separate ways.
Niahm walked slowly through the forest stopping now and again to see if anyone was about, but nothing she was all alone, but excited at the end of the journey she had spent the last 55 years on making changes and saving creatures and people lives. I’m going to miss this place.
She sobbed to herself as she walked.
Mean while the fairies had gathered the whole kingdom and they were on the way to the end of the forest to await the leader Niahm, with sad looks, heads bowed and talking amongst themselves About the fun and laughter they had whilst with Niahm, but they also recognised the bad times and all the things that she had saved them from and the things she done for them. As they arrived to the destination they all looked surprised at how beautiful the destination was, party banners, retirement banners, and balloons all in pretty colours. There was a huge pink cake sprinkled with glitter with Niahm written in big letters. The tunes flowed from the five fairies playing the flutes, it was beautiful, and all they needed now was Niahm to arrive so the party could begin.
At the entrance of the forest was a dark shadow of a figure; look over there!
shouted the blonde fairy. All the fairies stopped what they were doing instantly and stared at the shadow, which was slowly disappearing as Niahm appeared through the entrance looking quite stunned to see the party, which had been laid on. The whole kingdom clapped and cheered, as Niahm got closer. Sweet tunes echoed Niahm
was chanted and the silver sprinkles glistened in the sunlight.
I can’t believe you have done this party all for me, and every single one of you from the kingdom has come here especially when I hadn’t told you I was going, it has been a pleasure working with you and you will all be missed by me, thank you all dear friends of mine.
Niahm said with a twinkle in her deep blue eyes.
Well you didn’t think we was going to let you go with out a fuss, that’s where fairy dust comes in handy. Gathering the whole kingdom for you was easy.
Chuckled one of the fairies.
The party soon came to an end, the fairies said goodbye and Niahm made sure she hugged every single fairy and magical creature there was. Niahm walked into a beam of light making sure she looked back towards the kingdom-waving goodbye. The beam of light disappeared, as did Niahm.
The End…
Chelsy closed the fairy tale book, which was called the end of Niahm journey in bold silver letters. She placed the book onto the bed being careful not to rip the pages, as it was so fragile as this was her favourite book ever. She sat staring at the beautiful picture on the front of the fairies flying around the treetops with the sunlight beaming down.
Chelsy come down stairs we have to go and see somebody.
Shouted Daddy.
She jumped off her bed and grabbed her coat slamming the creaky door behind her.
Mummy, Daddy and Chelsy went out to the car and drove off down the street. 4 hours later they were driving through country lanes when they stopped at a huge white electrical gate. Where are we daddy?
You will see sweetie.
Daddy replied with a grin on his face.
Chelsy’s bright blue eyes widened as she saw 2 beautiful horses pulling along a silver carriage. Wow, they are so pretty, I’ve never seen anything like it.
She excitedly screeched.
Daddy got out the car and leaned back as the cart passed by, as it did there was a well dressed lady with long grey curly hair, as she passed she winked at Daddy. He waved back winking as he did. The horse went into the white gates followed by Daddy in his car. Now Chelsy you’ve got to be good and don’t touch a thing when you are inside the house, because it’s not your stuff and no doubt it will be very expensive. We can’t afford to go replacing thousands of pounds of damage so be good and don’t touch.
Said Mummy in a stern voice because she knew Chelsy wouldn’t listen if she spoke to her in a soft gentle voice.
Are you ready to go in?
asked Daddy, he didn’t even have to wait for an answer Chelsy jumped out the car with the big bunch of roses, red ones, yellow ones and even white and blue ones, she grabbed hold of her daddies hand with a tight sweaty grip as she was getting more nervous.
They all stood at the big brown door for the lady to come back, all of a sudden the big door flung open and no one was there. I guess we should just go in?
Asked Mummy.
Yes come on lets go.
Replied Daddy.
They walked through the door and looked around, wow look up there Chelsy was pointing up at the biggest chandelier she had ever seen.
Isn’t it pretty
