Screenplay of Wrestling Thugs of Killimore High School - Joe Rasselor
Congratulations to Heritage High School,
2016 Conference Champions.
Character List
Announcer – male or female; unseen voice that makes the morning announcements. This person has an upbeat voice while everyone else is still waking up. Director can use an ‘adult voice’ or a ‘teenager sounding voice’.
Assistant Coach – adult male; referees the wrestle off (challenge match). Nobody seems to know his real name.
Bucky Hicks – teenaged male; wrestling teammate and a classic country boy. May talk in a country, Texan, or southern accent.
Sherlock Ies – teenaged male; He is a returning state champion. Due to the live wrestling it is best if the actor has wrestling experience. He should also be roughly the same size as Apostle Doc
Watson.
Coach O’Nutti - adult male; Head Wrestling Coach. Has an Irish accent.
Faddi Waller – teenaged lineman size male; wrestler at heavyweight. Due to his size and larger than life voice (and smile) many wrestlers look up to him as a leader. The voice and way this character carries himself was highly influenced by the great musician Fats Waller.
Apostle Doc
Watson - teenaged male; wrestler and main character. Due to the live wrestling it is best if the actor has wrestling experience. He should also be roughly the same size as Sherlock Ies.
Apostle Doc
Watson as Narrator – voice; can be the same voice of the actor who play Apostle Doc
Watson or can be an adult male voice (or mature) voice.
Extra Students and Teachers – nonspeaking roles that are part of the background.
Optional Characters
Drakey Ape (optional Act 3 and ending character) – Teenaged male; slow and dimwitted from taking too many drugs. Unlikely member of the wrestling team, who carries a sledgehammer everywhere he goes.
English Teacher – (optional Act 3 character) adult male or female; clearly a Superman fan.
Old Man (Act 2: Option 2 character) – hit a deer with a truck; wants to do the right thing. Most likely was coming home from some Lutheran Church event (if it wasn’t Sunday then most likely a potluck).
Old Man’s Wife (Act 2: Option 2 character) – a caring nice old lady.
Unknown Person Below (optional Act 3 character) – male
