     The two figures sat on that glass-enclosed porch of that stately sandstone pile, which on a normal night would’ve looked out over the commanding hills and bleached, beautiful hulks of trees that dotted the Tasmanian Midlands so liberally and scenically. Now, though? You couldn’t see a foot from the window tonight; rain pounded at it horizontally, and thunderbolts clashed intermittently until every part of the house had received a hearty rattling. 

     Maybe that’s why Izzy Hanaleigh was… well… out of sorts.
