Dedication
This book is dedicated to my three children who are pictured with me on the back cover.
Despite and in spite of the situations I went through, that each of you witnessed, you all have grown into productive young adults that I am truly proud of.
Also to the memory of the late Sharon Y Slaughter,
A strong Black Woman of God.

Acknowledgements
First giving all thanks to God, who is not only the head of my life, but is my life. Without him nothing would be possible.
Next to my best friend, sister in Christ, my business partner in many endeavors, D. Ren’a Wagner. For your faith in me and hard work you’ve put forth to make my vision come to pass, I say Thank You!!!
To my Pastor and First Lady; James and Joan Lawson, who have been supportive of whatever Ren’a and I set out to do, please continue to keep me in your prayers.
To my Aunt Denise (Dee Dee) Jones, thank you for allowing God to use you. By passing on the email it has truly blessed me. It has been used as an outlet for me, a release of the shame I felt because of the abuse I endured. I have seen first hand how you have Let Go and Let God in your life over the years during your trials and tribulations.
To my Aunt Vicki Wilson, you have inspired me and encouraged me through your life by going after your dreams and making things happen. You’ve been there and done that, ‘Let Go and Let God’!!
To my Friend/Sister, Shonda Abram Allen for your wisdom and advice. And helping hand in raising my children along with your Mom and my mother’s best friend/sister, Patricia (Tishie) Turner Montgomery. Thank you both.
Last, but not least my husband Tony D. Bonner, who truly believes in me. I say thank you for the support and constant pushing, encouraging me to get this book done.
Words of Encouragement
To my little brother Jeffrey (Jay) Taylor
Don’t give up on your Dreams, Keep striving. Thanks for the support you have given me while I have been striving for mine.

Chapter 1
Mom Ruth and Angela
Unlocking the door to enter her home, still singing praises to God after attending Sunday morning service, Mom Ruth stops dead in her tracks, praise songs replaced by the shouting of her youngest daughter’s name.

.
Angela, who has come in from a night of partying sometime after Mom Ruth had left for church, wakes up groggy and hung over snaps at her mother.
What

Angela again snaps, What?!
Mom Ruth is about to blow a gasket, You know not to bring this mess into my house
.
Empty beer cans and liquor bottles are on the floor, cigarettes and a small bag of marijuana are on the coffee table, and a long blond wig is slung over the back of the couch.
As for me and my house we will serve the Lord
, says Mom Ruth.
Angela jumping up off the couch with an attitude, Whatever
says Angela, Since I live here too, you and your half serve the Lord, me and mine will do whatever we want to do
.
Mom Ruth thinks to herself, This girl is going to die today
. Before speaking she says a quick prayer, picking up her bible, she takes a deep breath, Angela I am your mother, this is my house, God’s word
,
Angela interrupts her mother.
"Stop, I don’t want to hear about your God today, I’m grown, I don’t have
