The redemption program was climaxed with the death of Jesus on the cross. This singular act of Jesus Christ brought much gain to the lost humanity. Sin brought shame and reproach to mankind but Jesus Christ took care of them and restored our lost glory. This opened the door of freedom and greatness.
This book offers you a insight to the steps that Jesus took for this glorious restoration. In addition, those whose lives were clothed with shame and reproaches can find a way out by carefully following the recommended steps.

    FORWARD

The writing of this book was motivated by Pastor Pat Olisa Mbatojuo’s belief in the Great Commission, passion for unsaved souls and call to the pastoral/teaching/literature ministry. This book centres on the salvation of humankind, based on Christ’s atoning/redeeming work. It shows that God in history has saved Israel from destruction and this salvation history attested to by the Old Testament Hebrew writers is a type of the salvation that is to come in the New Testament. The deliverance from Egyptian bondage through the intervention of God at the Red Sea was determinative of all Israel’s subsequent reflection on God’s nature and activity and anticipation of his full and final salvation in the future into the new heavens and new earth. This is the central theme of both the Old Testament and the New Testament. God is a God of salvation: historically and eschatologically which this book x-rays. He is often called Saviour in the Bible. This is the gospel of both the Jewish and the Christian faith as implied in this book.

It is therefore appropriate that the predicted Messianic Son of God in Judaism, who incarnated as the beloved Son of God in Christianity, by whom the divine purpose of salvation was achieved, should be called Jesus, which means Saviour. New Testament asserts that this prophetic expectation has already been fulfilled in its first stage by the coming of Christ and his church already in existence.

When the word became flesh, his deity was not abandoned or reduced nor did he cease to exercise his deity functions which have been his before. It was not that God the Son came to indwell in a human being. The incarnation of the Son of God then was not a diminishing of a deity, but an acquiring of manhood. The Son perfectly embodies all that is in the father, that is, there is no aspect of deity or character which the Father has the Son lacks.

The life of Christ is unique in many ways as I have read in Pastor Pat Olisa Mbatojuo’s book. One aspect of his uniqueness lies in his fulfillment of specific prophecies made hundreds of years before his birth. Only in his life do we see God became flesh. It is the life of Christ alone that reveals God of love and righteousness seeking to save fallen humanity. All the claims made by Jesus regarding his eternal and divine sonship are confirmed by his life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension as the author states.

Main epochs in Christ’s life as I have read in Pastor Pat Olisa Mbatojuo’s book include his supernatural birth. The gospels agree that he was not the son of a human father, but was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born as the Son of God – an uncommon thing which happened once and never again. Second epoch was his infancy childhood and growth to maturity which was normal and perfect. Third epoch was his baptism in water by John the Baptist. By doing this, he publicly accepted his messianic role as Saviour full of the Holy Spirit, hence the coming down upon him of the dove. The fourth epoch was his temptation which he overcame showing that when we are tempted, we will overcome if we have Christ in us. The fifth epoch was his resurrection to demonstrate his power over death and eternal life. The final epoch was his ascension. These six epochs are evidences of Christ’s credibility and authenticity as the Saviour of humanity.

The forgiveness of sins following repentance for reconciliation and peace with God, healings, miracles and parables of Christ are evidences of salvation in the New Testament. They are signs of who Jesus is (Saviour) to those who have faith in him as their personal Lord and Saviour. It is in realization of this need of salvation that Pastor Pat Olisa Mbatojuo has written and published this book to remind and educate us. It is the fruit of six chapter historical survey of the life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Christ and their benefits to us.

The author, Pastor Pat Olisa Mbatojuo has a long record of dedicated Christian service at Christian Pentecostal Mission, International, Apapa I and now at God Is Still God Mission, Apapa. As an Industrial Chemist Theologian, he
