About this ebook
Kheneil A. Black
I was born on October 31st 1984, in a place the whole world is familiar with. Kingston, Jamaica is my birth place, I lived there for the first four years of my life, and to this day I consider it my home. I think of myself as a proud Canadian too but when Im asked, my classification is Jamaican-Canadian. My family moved to Toronto, Canada on August 1988. Since coming here Ive been thoroughly immersed into many cultures and ideals that where once alien to me. Jamaican by nature but Canadian by nurture with lessons abundant As I grew, my attitudes about love, life, and money remain incumbent The places Ive lived, be it safe or dangerous leaves nothing to be ashamed This book isnt about getting in the lime light or seeking fame If there is anything learned from this book, my outlook on life is to blame My mind races with thoughts of loved ones and naysayers all the same Because of the raw nature of my mind, these words could no longer be contained So I spill my thoughts and life lessons on these pages for your mind to retain Growing up in many places from rural landscapes to urban concrete lakes Ive seen with my own eyes, that the more you know the higher the stakes Im not seeking fame but Im not apposed to the title of a great. My life like the city is layered with different colors and tastes much like a cake If the ideals in these pages do not rise in your heart, give it time to bake. Writing is my means to an end, and life is shorter than just around the bend Treat the people around you as kind as your lovers and friends Enjoy each page of this book, so you can find the means to your end.

My Black Book- Vol.1 - Kheneil A. Black
The Welcome Mat
The ties that bind are the tightest kind
Family, friends, and love are all of the above
They make up my life’s organs
They keep me warm, because they are my gloves
In the middle is my spine
My heart, body and mind
Held together with inner strength
Trained by written thoughts and toned by written rhyme
This is my first stroke in other readers’ boats
Let common bonds keep my readers afloat
With my heart on my sleeves it’s my love that I tote
Many lessons learned are my sensitive nerves
Memories are my blood, my vim, vigor and verve
Sullen times of the past where served on a curve
All throughout this journey pay attention to my verbs
And if a phrase strikes deep, heed the meaning of my words
As you dive into this book
See it as your wave or your babbling brook
What ever message taken from within
Know there is no need to return what you took
Now the end of my spine has a hook
If you’re given food for thought
Just remember, I’m the cook

Chapter 1: Black Magic
I’m like a black hole
Ever yearning for more
Nothing is fulfilling
Not any more
But one day I felt it
And I became whole
My heart was full
My soul satisfied
It was so intense
I almost cried inside
What is it and what does it hold
My heart in its hands for it to mould
It takes my thoughts
And transmutes words to gold
Since thoughts brew
Until we return to mould
I can throw words together
Until I’m grey and old
This is the realest raw deal
These are the beginnings
Before the banana is peeled
Before the first inning
Before the pigs squeal
Before the dawn breaks
In a time before the fake was real
Before the earth quakes
Before the good and tragic
It all started here
In the book called Black Magic
Love Drops
Walking in the rain
Helps to cleanse the body the soul and the brain
Washing away the pain that drove me insane
Cleaning my heart so I’m ready to love again
To the world it’s all the same
Misery and pain with no one to blame
Destiny awaits us, but what are we to gain?
When I come across them they seem content and lame
But what’s in a name? They can call me rain
I’ll let them walk if it’s all the same
And as they whisper goodbye hurt, goodbye pain
I’ll yell out to the heavens
Screw you all I’m walking in the rain
With my heart in hand they are ready to love again.
Fake-believe
Trapped between two worlds, the real and the fake
Trying to find a place to land to make my name great
The real world is an ocean; the fake is just a lake
Where would you go to learn how to swim?
Where would you place your fate?
The fake world is easy it has comfort, it offers breaks
