I acknowledge and thank Jehovah, my dear God, for the life He has given me. Glory to Jesus for what He sacrificed to save me. And to the Holy Spirit for leading me to Jesus, and rescuing me from a life of suffering.

Also, I thank my dear wife for her support, which made possible the publishing of this book. Thank you also to my sister and brother, Rosa Herrera de Silva and Alfredo Herrera Alvarado, for their support in helping me in all my needs and my studies.

I am grateful to my daughter Heliana Garza, my son Alfredo Herrera, my daughter in law Marissa Herrera and my sister in Christ Sandra Massey for their assistance in the English Language to complete this book.

    Introduction

The reason I wrote this book is to share how my life radically changed after Jesus rescued me, and how He continues to help me change and accomplish the best things in my life.

I hope this book will be a blessing and a help to others in their search for God. I wrote this book for people who know about God, His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit but do not know Them personally, and for those who have known Jesus, but have fallen away from Him. Through my testimony, I hope others can find Jesus and decide to follow Him. Jesus is not only a teacher, He is also our Lord. He gives us life, light, love, and guides our steps throughout life.

My hope is also to help those who feel their lives are hopeless and helpless, just as I did before I met Jesus. I want to reach out to those who are feeling bound by stress and anxiety, living in dependence on anti anxiety and antidepressants, unable to sleep and have a life of peace and joy. Anti anxiety and antidepressants provide only temporary relief, and do not provide the healing we can only find in Jesus. I want those who feel hopeless to find hope, the helpless to find help, the wounded to be healed, and the sick to be made well. There is a way to achieve total change and to live in peace, with good health, prosperity, and complete freedom. That way is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

When I met Jesus Christ, I became a new person, a new creation and the old things in my life began to go away, and all things in my life started becoming new. Salvation is available to everyone, because our God is a God for all, and He loves everyone and wants to help all who come to Him.

He will help you if you look for Him daily through prayer, reading and studying the Bible, and applying His truths to your life. You can apply the same Biblical principles to your life today that our previous generations have applied for over 2000 years, to achieve the best of their lives.

Also, the Word of God gives you the opportunity to learn and grow in your relationship with Jehovah God the Father, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They are the only Ones Who have the power to help you change your life and give you true peace and joy; joy you have never felt before and joy that will last forever. If that is your desire, God will pour His love into you.

In this book, I describe the steps I followed, guided by the Holy Spirit, which helped me to form the spiritual foundation I needed to make permanent changes in my life. It was a process that took some time and energy and a total dependence on the Holy Spirit. He is my counselor, teacher, and helper. The Lord has given me a life of peace, health and joy; all my needs have been met, and He has also given me the desires of my heart, He wants us to have a long life of abundance.

If you decide to follow these steps, the changing process will depend on your attitude, dedication, perseverance, obedience, and cooperation with the Holy Spirit. You will only get out of this, what you put into it. Learning is not enough; you must also apply in your life what you are learning.

To achieve the desired results, it is not necessary to follow the steps in this book in the same order I describe them. The order can be adapted to the unique needs of the individual and the situation the person is facing. The order of the steps is not important but all steps must be accomplished to achieve the desired change in a person’s life.

The first step is to come to our God in prayer with passion, love, and faith. Ask Him to forgive your sins, open His Word and His wisdom on you. To show you His path for your life.

Have faith that if you ask God with all your heart, He will help you each step of the way. He desires for you to reflect the image of His Son, Jesus. And He will help you, just as He helped me.

    CHAPTER 1

    About the Author

I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, where I grew up with my mother and six brothers and sisters. We were middle class. My father died when I was very young, so I do not remember him. I wish I had known him and could have shared with him my childhood and youth, and enjoyed his company.

During her life, my mother was a strong believer, and so are my brothers and sisters. We have always had the desire to read and know about the Bible and go to church but my brothers and sisters never had a Bible to read. We always have been hungry for the Word of God, and thirst for the water of life that Jesus, His Son, gives us. My mother always talked to us about the principles of God. She did so to spark an interest in the divine principles, which are very important in the spiritual life of a person.

My mother told us her father belonged to a group that studied the Bible, and he shared the Word of God with her. I think this was why she had the desire to know about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

I remember my Mom taking us to church. She had a Bible; sometimes I saw her reading it. In my family, I did not see others with a Bible. My brothers and sisters did not read the Bible, and so I did not, either. I remember some people said we should not read the Bible, because we would not understand It, and people could become crazy reading It. It was not easy to find a Bible, but sometimes I saw the priest reading it during services.

My oldest sister went to church, and sometimes she took me with her. I left Church feeling the same way I did when I arrived, with a spiritual emptiness, and not getting anything out of the message.

When I was a child, I had some friends about my age. We played together with toys we made, just like other kids. Some Sundays, I went to church with some of these friends, at the end of the service, we never made
