About this ebook

June 2009
With acts of terror on the rise worldwide devastating families, towns, cities, and destabilizing nations, the U.N. Security Council had to act swiftly.
A resolution passed for a "request to be made, and authorization to be given to the American President to provide a VERY SPECIAL FORM OF ASSISTANCE to end the spiraling crisis in Lebanon".
From the dust, ashes, twisted and bent steel of the World Trade Center in NYC September 11, 2001 emerged a new spirit, a new unified energy, an awakening that grabbed and shook every American, and made them realize the World was indeed a very dangerous place.
Armed with information, technology, and communication provided at lightning speed through the internet, terror organizations had formed alliances and werenow attacking "us".
It was clear America needed a change, a new breed of leader, a new breed of warrior, a new champion of the faithful.
As history has proven time and time again, Americans are at their best when "times seem to be at their worst". When we're sucker-punched or blind-sided, we respond collectively as one. It isin those moments that we are born again. It starts individually, then collectively. It is at those precise moments that "We the people" have made our greatest leapsand evolved to become the Nation we are.
9-11-2001 was such a moment. When the U.N. Security Council passed the resolution requesting and authorizing the American President to provide a "VERY SPECIAL FORM OF ASSISTANCE",America's new breed of leader and warriors had emerged. America's First Woman President Caroline E. Smith gave the order for the Men and Women of BLACKWATCH TACTICAL FORCE FIVE to do what theyhad been trained to do.
The World would never be the same again. "Justice would be served!"

    Chapter One

    Red One, Red One, Silver-fox One

    The Watch Commander was summoned to the communication center. Every time Major Dan Thomas, code name Red Fox One, approached the communication center, he couldn’t help feeling like he was going to be entombed inside a pyramid. This wasn’t any ordinary communication center. This communication center is by far, the most sophisticated, fortified, secure, and near invisible communication center on any U.S. Marine Corps Base in the world. This one is located inside a mountain on Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station, on the island of Oahu in the state of Hawaii.

    The Air Station, known to all U.S. Marines as K-Bay, is presently the home of the 1st Marine Brigade. A Marine Brigade is a large tactical unit that is made up of an assortment of smaller tactical units for a specific tactical purpose. The 1st Marine Brigade consists of (3) main elements; (1) infantry regiment, (1) air wing, and (1) Brigade Service Support Group. The Brigade has to be ready to leave the base as rapidly as is possible when so ordered by the President. So, the 1st Marine Brigade is actually a guest of the Air Station.

    The Air Station is a Marine Base and all the personnel and equipment required to maintain that base belong to the Base Command. The Base Command provides all the security and maintenance for all the facilities, runways, roadways, barracks, family housing, schools, beaches, base stores, nightclubs, and recreational areas. Simply put, the Base Command is entirely responsible for every single thing and person located on that base that doesn’t go to war.

    That structure allows the 1st Marine Brigade, or any piece of it, to depart K-Bay immediately. Such was the case in the 1st and 2nd Iraq wars, the 1st Marine Brigade had to ship out (deploy) immediately.

    The location of the Air Station is ideal too. It’s located on the windward side of Oahu, one of the Hawaiian Islands. Oahu is the Hawaiian Island with Waikiki, Honolulu, and Pearl Harbor. The windward side is the opposite side of the island away from those three places, it’s separated from them by a huge mountain range. On the windward side, there is a piece of land that sticks out into the ocean from the base of the mountain range shaped like your index finger half curled. The curled part is sufficient in length to form a bay, Kaneohe Bay. At its widest point, the bay is seven miles across. The curled part of land is the Air Station. Since the Air Station is surrounded on three sides by water, safety and security is easier to maintain. Nothing can get near to the Air Station without being seen well in advance. Once seen, whatever is approaching is closely monitored.

    There are (2) gates to the Air Station, the Main Gate and the Back Gate, once you enter either gate, you are extremely visible to a security network that utilizes the most advanced surveillance systems known to man. The surveillance systems capture everything about you, your car, your passengers, anything on your bodies, in your bags, and in your vehicle. Before you or your vehicle travels (500) yards past either gate, you, your vehicle, your passengers, the contents on you, on your passengers, in your vehicle has been cleared and documented or by the (501st) yard all hell will break loose. Your vehicle will not budge one more inch, it will cease to function.

    In that unlikely event, Base Command personnel and equipment will be the cause for your discomfort (to put it nicely).

    Shall we continue, from either approach, the first part of the base you and your cleared vehicle will come to is the home of the 3rd Marine Regiment (Infantry). Then you come to the heart of the base where the stores, base family housing, all the barracks for everyone in the Brigade and for the Air Station live, the Mess Halls (dining areas), movie theaters, chapels, schools, hospital, financial center, library, and a few other things are located.

    Beyond that, you go through training areas, command areas, supply/support areas until you reach the Air Wing side with hangers, runways, and miles of beaches. Of course, I’ll have you know you’re now sticking out about (5) miles into the Pacific Ocean surrounded on (3) sides by water.

    No one is getting on any foot of that base without going through the gates or being given permission to land on a runway or beach (trust me when I tell you no one, no how, no way).

    Let’s plant our feet on the concrete sidewalk in front of the Brigade’s Commanding General’s building, as if we just came out. Right in front of the Commanding General’s building and slightly to the left, is this huge rock (mountain) about (1,400 ft.) tall, almost straight up at a (65-75) degree angle. There’s a set of steps that start at the edge of the sidewalk and goes up about half the height of the mountain and stops abruptly at a landing. At the back of the landing is a vault-like door that is about (12 ft.) wide by (10 ft.) tall, and (3 ft.) thick.

    There is a service road that snakes it’s way up starting from the right side and ends on the top.

    On the top, there are (4) parking spaces and a barn-like building with (2) huge front swing out doors. On the right huge swing out door is (1), smaller regular sized entrance door. If you were to enter the barn-like structure, you would come face to face with a concrete bunker that would make Hitler’s Eagle Nest look like a kid’s cardboard fort. It’s unbelievable, breathtaking, and the first question that arises is; what the hell is in there?

    And that brings us right back to Major Dan Thomas, code name Red Fox One. He is down about (600 ft.) inside the mountain in Blackwatch Tactical Force Five’s Communication Center. That unit, "Blackwatch Tactical Force Five, is so secret that few people know it exists.

    Major Dan Thomas, code name Red Fox One, is the Watch Commander On Duty for Blackwatch Tactical Force Five and like I said earlier, he has just been summoned to the communication center. Once inside the center, nothing can penetrate it’s walls, floor, or ceiling. No technology known to man could capture the conversations within that center from outside the mountain.

    The year is 2009, the month is June, the 21st day (yes, the longest day in more ways than one). Major Dan Thomas goes through all the necessary protocols and ultimately, gives his code name, Red Fox One. Immediately, it seems as if he hit the jackpot on a slot machine. Pages and pages of messages are decoded and flying out of the printer into his hands.

    The first message read; "Two Israeli soldiers were kidnapped by Hezbollah on June 19, 2009 at 18:30 (6:30pm) EST in southern Lebanon.

    The last time that happened in June 2006, the result was a (38) day war between Israel and Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon causing billions of dollars worth of damage, near (1,000) dead, (13,123) injured, and a humanitarian crisis. The World as we knew it was just minutes away from catastrophe.

    This time, the World, specifically the UN Security Council members, were not willing to have that happen again. So, the UN convened a special session of the Security Council at 7:00 AM EST, June 20th, 2009.

    The French introduced a resolution, seconded by the British that requested assistance of a classified nature from the U.S. government. Specifically, the resolution requested the U.S. government intervene on the World’s behalf utilizing Blackwatch Tactical Force Five. The resolution numbered UN2009BTF5 passed unanimously.

    The resolution was classified because as far as the World public knew, Blackwatch Tactical Force Five did not exist.

    Many governments knew it existed because they were either helped by it or hurt by it. At any rate, once passed, the U.S. Ambassador to the UN, formally presented the resolution to the U.S. Secretary of State.

    The Secretary of State then presented it formally to the President of the United States at 17:00 (5pm) EST, June 20, 2009. President Caroline E. Smith accepted it and took action immediately. She instructed her staff to discreetly contact all the National Security Council members and have them in the Whitehouse Situation Room no later than 18:25 (6:25pm) EST.

    At 18:30 (6:30pm) EST, June 20th 2009, she convened a meeting with the National Security Council in the Whitehouse Situation Room, read the resolution and the formal request for assistance and gave everyone a chance to speak. She then commanded the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to execute her order.

    Next, she had a midnight meeting with her cabinet informing them of what had transpired and what was about to happen. She also made it quite clear, that although they had many questions, much of the information was classified top secret and they would not be told greater detail now or ever. She made it extremely clear that American lives were now at risk and that any leaks or misinformation would be dealt with severely. She closed by thanking them for their service, their faith, their understanding, and asked them to pray for the safe return of all those now nearing harm’s way.

    After that meeting, she met with members of the House Armed Services Sub-Committee and informed them of all that had transpired and asked the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General John Meyers, to update them all as to the status of the operation.

    By 07:00 (7am) EST on June 21st 2009, President Caroline Smith was in front of the World’s TV cameras. Although addressing the World via TV, she was specifically speaking to Hezbollah.

    She informed them of the Security Council emergency meeting, the resolution introduced by the French, seconded by Britain, passed unanimously by all members. She was not specific as to the wording of the resolution because it was classified. Suffice it to say, that she told them action was requested to be taken by the U.S. on behalf of the World. She told them a repeat of 2006 would not happen nor be tolerated by the World. Her final words to Hezbollah, Justice be served.

    Major Dan Thomas, code name Red Fox One, couldn’t believe what he was reading;

    …(2) Israeli soldiers kidnapped by Hezbollah June 19, 2009….

    He found himself asking a question to himself, "Could they be that stupid to do what they did in June 2006 again, and think the World would tolerate it?

    Just by the volumes of pages printing and falling into his hands, it was clear the World’s reaction was going to be much different this time, especially if he and the men and women of Blackwatch Tactical Force Five were being given orders to intervene. Even without reading any further, he knew Blackwatch was getting into it or his printer would’ve been silent. His thought; God help them. They don’t know what they’ve done. They have no idea what’s about to come at them, nor how severely they will be dealt with. His afterthought, at least it will be quick for them, too bad.

    The next words Major Dan Thomas read, definitely got his full attention and caused his adrenaline to start pumping in overdrive;

    Red One, Red One, Silver Fox One, Execute!

    Every military command has plans, plans, and more plans. Every plan has a name, a number, or a combination of both. The military command of any service is similar, but unique as well. Every command tries to anticipate situations and plan for them. If funding is available for training, the Command implements the plan in a training exercise (normally in a scaled down version to save money).

    Blackwatch Tactical Force Five is not like any other unit. Every plan is rehearsed entirely and completely. Then a detailed after action report is completed, analyzed, scrutinized, and the plan is either revised or tossed.

    Red One, Red One, Silver Fox One, is a plan that employs every Blackwatch Tactical Force Five Section and member. Lethal would be a severely gross understatement.

    When a plan is executed, it becomes an order. When Major Dan Thomas, code name Red Fox One, received the message;

    Red One, Red One, Silver Fox One, Execute, the plan became an order authorized by the Commander-In-Chief, President Caroline E. Smith.

    The communication center awakened as if a starving beast sensing prey within reach. Blackwatch communication center members arrived at every work station, protocols (established procedures) were being carried out. Every single member became focused upon one thing, Red One, Red One, Silver Fox One. Nothing, and I mean nothing, else mattered until that order was carried out, done, and put to bed.

    The President had asked the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General John Meyers, if Blackwatch had ever failed. The Chairman replied;

    Madam President, they do not fail, Mam. They do not stop, Mam. Success will be theirs, Mam. The unit motto is B.B.B.G., Mam.

    So, naturally the President asked General Meyers what B.B.B.G. stood for. His reply; Bye, Bye, Bad Guy, Mam.

    The General couldn’t help admiring the strength, the dignity, and the compassion President Caroline E. Smith brought to the Office of the President. She had been elected in 2008 by a landslide. She had won the support of the Armed Services as early as 2006 (before she was even officially running), because of her unrelenting fight to support our troops that the previous administration had placed in harm’s way.

    Don’t get me wrong. The previous administration had sent troops to war to defend our nation. Based upon intelligence presented at the time the decisions were made, it definitely seemed necessary and the decisions were supported by the majority of Congressional leaders, the Nation’s population, and even some of our closest allies.

    As time went by, the reasons and the support for our troops to be engaged in armed conflict, seemed to change. Decisiveness and purpose seemed to become cloudy at best, and going in the wrong direction, at worst.

    But, that didn’t change the fact that we had hundreds of thousands of troops in harm’s way daily because we ultimately sent them there. People seem to forget, when it’s convenient, that our elected leaders are but an extension of us. We elected them. They represent us. We the people, are the United States.

    President Caroline E. Smith was a Senator in the state of New York in 2006. Yes she had represented the majority of the voters in her state and voted to send troops to war in 2003 based upon the intelligence presented to her and those she represented. Yes she had made numerous trips to those danger zones to show her support for those men and women we had sent into harm’s way, and to get first hand information as to what was really happening in those areas. She wanted to keep those at home informed correctly and completely to the best of her ability. Yes she found herself questioning the direction we seemed to be going, both in policy and in result.

    And yes, she acknowledged that time and events were proving there were alternatives. But, she never faltered on supporting her countrymen in harm’s way. When other Congressional leaders were calling for cutting and running, she demanded we do what was right.

    When the families of servicemen and women sent their loved ones in harm’s way a new product, bandages that clot wounds in as little as (30) seconds, doctors and nurses were so impressed with how well the bandages were working, that they went through their chain-of-command and pleaded that a massive amount of the new bandages be sent to all troops in danger zones immediately. If it had not been for the families sending their loved ones that new product, the doctors and the nurses never would have known they existed. The first time the Department Of Defense (D.O.D.), heard about the bandages existing was when the doctors and the nurses in the danger zones requested them through the chain-of-command.
