Preamble
"This is a unique voice form the unique being, the one in existence before any form of existentiality. The one in charge of all affairs when all in existence exist. The only one that will outlive all beings. The architect that plans the life of all creatures in various worlds be it terrestrial, celestial or aquatic.
"I am indeed the KIND of kings….
My existence is a mystery to all beings ever since they were created. The mystery cannot be quantified or perceived in any form. I am indeed THE LORD FO THE WORLDS.
"To my honourable audience, I salute your courage for wanting to listen to me as this will benefit you immensely. Regarding today’s narration, I will like to narrow the topic in order not to mix issues together. I will be discussing MAN.
"This is a being I so much cherished. I made him the most honourable among my creatures. Many of my creatures were against the idea of creating him because of his status among them; they agitated against him out of jealousy and because of some other reasons. Among these are: hatred for one another; jealousness; unhealthy rivalry; and killing of one another.
"These account for man’s problems from time immemorial up to this moment. Although, most of them are of erring nature, some still stand out as righteous individuals. This made me damn some of his rivals that never wanted him created for I KNOW WHAT THEY DON’T KNOW!
It is wise for the wisest to make the world conducive for its inhabitants.
In the aquatic world, the water is suitable for fishes; the same goes for the land; it is the best place for animals and plants to dwell in. the heavens are not different. They are made to habour the sun, the star and the moon. All these were created before MAN for particular purposes.
"I wouldn’t want to bother you with a lengthy preamble as I could see most of your itching to hear my story. Before then, I will like you all to bear it in mind that your world can be likened to the relationship between bird and frog when they both engage in a race. The bird symbolizes the world itself while the frog stands for man. I wonder how fast a frog can be to be able to overtake a bird; it is an impossibility. Let me pause here and you will hearing from me as the need arises.
Chapter One
I see!
Adeori sneezed but did not know what to do next. He was commanded to thank his creator.
Oh, I thank my creator,
Adeori said but still in a state of dilemma because he had just been made. He later realized how beautiful his surroundings were, the scenario was quite pleasing to the eyes. It was so marvelous and splendid, yet he was not feeling comfortable. How can I be staying in this vast garden alone?
he asked rhetorically.
The question never caught THE VOICE unaware because it had been pre-determined that someone will complement Adeori. After sometimes, a part of his ribs was removed and another person was made from it. Someone who was quite different from his. They were new to each other. They did not know how to communicate, as there was no language to use. Days rolled into months and months into years, still they did not know how to talk until they started gesticulating, which led to sign language.
During the cause of their stay in the garden, THE VOICE made it known to them that all the fruits in the garden could be eaten except one, which was forbidden. Initially, the order was followed until an unknown force tempted them Iblis happened to be the most pious servant of THE VOICE among all creatures before Adeori. During the cause of Adori’s creation, Iblis and his colleagues sensed the uniqueness and gigantic status of Adeori among all beings. They were able to perceive that THE VOICE would prefer him, so they became unhappy. They tried to convince THE VOICE that creating Adeori was unnecessary. THE VOICE went ahead to create him. He was taught the names of things in the garden, which were not known to Iblis and his colleagues.
The angels were tested but they all failed except Adeori and for that, they were all commanded to bow down for him. All of them obeyed except Iblis, who, out of arrogance, jealousy and greed, disobeyed the KING OF KINGS.
"I am ready to leave this beautiful place. I am ready to forego gold for mud. I am ready to forego water for mirage. I know that doom has been spelt on me but I will appreciate it if you would allow me to be perceived as Adeori and his progeny perceive moon among the stars, allow me to disillusion them. Give me the power to affect their psyche. Make my look pleasing to them and I will be nothing but a thorn in their flesh. It will gladden my heart if you grant these requests. It would give me a cause to smile, as I will not be left alone to bear the burden.
THE VOICE relied, All your requests have been granted but there is a clause: Any of them who is sincere will never be trapped by your tricks.
Iblis reacted, Ah! Ah! I am very grateful… En, en, you’ve granted my requests. Yes, I am very hopeful that with my instruments, none of them would be saved except a very minute percentage.
He continued: Part of my instruments will be commodity of exchange. If this is used and it does not meet the target, automatically the daughter of Ewatomi will do the job perfectly. Let me go now and start operating.
He left for the earth, waiting for Adeori and his wife, Ewatomi.
The granted request quickly translated into action. Iblis went through the mind of Ewatomi after he tried Adeori out to no avail.
Look, I don’t think you love yourself. Even if your husband is senseless, are you supposed to follow him blindly? THE VOICE permitted you to eat all the fruits except one. Don’t you think there is a reason behind that decision?
asked Iblis. He went further, The forbidden one is a special fruit that will prevent you and your husband from dying and you will continue staying in this garden forever.
Iblis left after confusing Ewatomi. Ewatomi became uncomfortable. She did not know how to convey the message to her husband until Adeori was relaxing after a strenuous day’s job.
Dear, I will like to discuss an issue with you,
said Ewatomi with her head on Adeori’s laps. She was equally romancing him too.
The latter did not hesitate to ask about his matter.
What kind of issue is that?
asked Adeori.
It’s about our lives. It’s about how we can live forever in this garden. It’s about what will ensure our peaceful existence as a couple…
replied Ewatomi.
En, en, okay, tell me, let me hear it.
Adeori readjusted himself.
Ewatomi continued: You know we are permitted to eat all fruits in this garden except one?
"Yes! Yes! Adeori reacted.
The reason for that is that a time will come when both of us will not exist any longer and these enjoyments will seize.
Adeori wanted to give the message a second thought but the garment of love covered his eyes; he could not
