    PREAMBLE

"Though your beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase."                                                                 Job 8:7

For Years I have asked the question…. Why are some rich and some poor? Why do some start life though rough in the early stages yet finish really well,-well on top?

History is filled with people who had bad starts to life but had greater endings. An example is Helen Keller, the first deaf blind person to earn a degree. Though started life deaf and blind but finished as an author, lecturer and political activist. She was a deaf blind woman who overcame every difficulty to become a role model for millions.

Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Jackson all started life from very poor and humblest of homes with little and barely no advantages but later became commanders in the race of life.

George Jowett was lame and weak in the early stages of his life, bullied by older boys but later discovered strength to pay back by stern determination to exercise and to work to develop himself. He later became the world’s strongest man.

David, a shepherd boy later became the king of the great people of God.

And he still holds a place in the Kingdom of God. Jesus has a key called the Key of David.

Jabez was a boy of sorrow and pain but later ruled in life.

Daniel, as a captive young man in a foreign land later became ruler on the same land.

I do believe that no matter where you started your life, you have a huge opportunity to make history and join the heroes of God with a strong determination to change the direction of your life for good. You must not leave this world unhappy and caged by life’s beggarly elements.

    Every ‘Nobody’ can become ‘Somebody’.

The reason for this project is to paint to you that life can be different. You can live happy. You can change your life no matter what!

In Job 8:7 above, we are told that our latter should increase. That means you must end your life on a better note. What seizes my attention is the should increase. It is something that ought to happen in your life but you, as an individual, have a hand in its manifestation.

May the light of God surge into your spirit, impacting wisdom and understanding in your life as you walk through the pages in this book.

    Chapter 1

    THE LAW OF BEGINNING

What would you do if you are given the chance to start life all over again? Where would you be if you had the chance to be? What would you do if you had all the money and all the time? What would you do if you were given the chance to choose your profession or career again? Think about that!

Are we not all children of the same Father? Are we not all created by the same God?

    Malachi 2:10 NLT

…I am ascending to my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God.

    John 20:17 NKJV

From one source there must be one inheritance for all, for there is no discrimination in God.

If you are going to climb the ladder of life’s peace and blessing, you must come to a perfect understanding of who you are.

"I knew his face the moment that he passed triumphant in the thoughtless, cruel throng-I gently touched his arm-he smiled at me. He was the man that once I meant to be.

    Where I had failed, he’d won from life, success; where I had stumbled, with sure feet he stood;

Alike-yet unlike-we faced the world, and through the stress he found that life was good.

And I? The bitter wormwood in the glass. The shadowed way along which failure pass!

Yes as I saw him thus, joy came to me. He was the man that once I meant to be!

We did not speak. But in his sapient eyes I saw the spirit that had urged him on.

The courage that had held him through the fight. Had once been mine. I thought ‘Can it be gone?’

He felt that unmasked question-felt it so his pale lips formed the one-word answer ‘No!’

Too late to win? No! Not too late for me. He is the man that still I mean to be."

    D. Appleton

Often the difference between a successful person and a failure is not because one has better abilities or ideas, but the courage that one has to bet on one’s ideas, to take a calculated risk-and to act.

A careful insightful journey into life points it so clearly that, there is within every person the power to change things. There is enough within the reach of the poor to make him rich. You have what it takes to alter the course of your life. So let’s go on and find out in the pages of this project in your hand.

There was a man sent from God….. John 1:6.

We should know in our days that God sends people. I’m sent to you in this generation to place in your hand the keys that will open new doors and opportunities. For the secret of the Lord are with them that fear Him, and He will teach them His covenant.

You must be aware that there is something you can do to move from where you are to where you want to be. We were born naked but you will agree with me that we are not expected to walk through this earth naked. You will be labelled a mad person, if you try! Just because you were born on ninth level doesn’t mean you are going to finish your life at the same level. Your birth place is not necessarily your finishing place!

Irrespective of where you are now there is an individual and personal responsibility placed on you by God to start something if you want to change your life. You need to give yourself a reference point no matter how bad things might have been till this point, because once you have life you have chance so don’t waste it.

You may be better equipped than most successful people you know or might have read about but the truth is this: Until you start the journey, you won’t finish it.

Friend, you have got a choice in this life! Please understand this: The fact that you were born in ‘Failure Avenue’ or ‘Disaster Lane’ doesn’t mean you should stay there all your life. The fact that you are born into that poor family does not mean you should continue to live in poverty. Whatever your state now, you can change it.

It is said the first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are and a journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step. The most miserable person, to me, is not the one without money or talent or help but the one with a dream and never starts something to make his dream come true. He is miserable because he sees what could become of his life but lives within the circle of inactivity. On the other hand the man who dreams and believes in His God and begins something will be praised in this world and the world to come. For he will be met by the Master with the supreme greetings-Well done thou good and faithful servant!

Too many times procrastination becomes a master dictator of many lives. Ambitions are thrown away, glorious opportunities are wasted, and ways that lead to higher, successful lives have been neglected because many feared or failed to begin or take the necessary most important first step. But we don’t have to forget that from small beginnings come great things, and that the
