About this ebook
Roger E. Powell
For most of my life I made my living as an artist. My work involved architectural rendering and fine painting in oil, acrylic and watercolor. My work has sold around the world in prints and in galleries as well as having received awards. I teach painting in all three mediums as well as drawing. As most artists I enjoyed painting the outward physical beauty of my surroundings, such as landscapes, still life and portraits, etc. However, I have come to see the inward beauty of physical things, and am now attempting to paint the unseen beauty of the world around me. To do this I have had to change mediums. My medium now is words and my subjects are the concepts of the analogies and the allegorical teachings of God as expressed in his creation. These paintings can only be seen with the mind's eye. My hope is that these paintings will lead you to see the vast wealth offered to man by God's language in his creation. This book will without question put before you concepts you have never heard of or thought of. Put them to the test and see where they lead you. You cannot imagine the beauty or the vista until you experience it!

A sequel to The Sensual Flesh
An imprint of iUniverse.com, Inc
Though this book is written as a sequel to The Sensual Flesh, it should have preceded The Sensual Flesh for it deals with the source of knowledge that enabled the writing of the first. It deals with the source of all true knowledge concerning God.

A Poem
Elizabeth Ann Powell
Each of us ride out our lives on a sea of mankind. Some days are smooth sailing; Yet others—the sea churning with angry choppy waves make it difficult to always keep on course. But first, to be confident on any type of sea, We need someone to show us how to sail. How—by watching the way they sail And by being shown how to read the guide that will take all safely thru.
Dad, you have done that for all of us. And when each of our ships sail safely into port, it’ll be because we’ve had a Father like you.
Matt 24:27 For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the truth be.

FORWARD
BURIED TREASURE. These words usually conjure up in the mind the excitement of finding treasures buried by pirates on some deserted island. The thought came into being because there has been in the past such treasures found, often with the aid of some kind of map giving direction as to the treasure’s location. Many books of adventure have been written and movies made on the subject, all creating exciting concepts for the reader. Such stories also carry over into lost treasures that have been found on the bottom of the sea where some pirate’s ship was sunk in some storm. In each case the treasure has revealed its content of great wealth. If one were to find or be told of a map of directions to a buried treasure of enormous wealth, do you think he or she would be excited about it, especially if it were shown to that person he could actually get access to the map? You would certainly think so.
There is actually such buried treasure yet to be found. A treasure of riches one can not imagine is yet undiscovered and is still possible to be found by someone. There also does exist a map telling of its location. This map has been discarded by many that considered it worthless and foolish. Unfortunately the map has been incorrectly explained and printed by crafty individuals who sell it for profit causing many deceived persons to proclaim it as impossible.
I found a portion of the original map seemingly by accident. As I began to study the map I found it was written in simple analogies that explained where the treasure was and why the pirates lost it. Since then, by following the map, I have uncovered more riches than I could have imagined. Yet I know what I have found is only a portion of the treasure that is there to be uncovered.
To my unbelievable surprise the treasure was buried both in the earth and at the bottom of the sea. The map specifically states that fact. After finding the map I began to realize that the earth
and sea
on the map was in a sense a code, and I had to find the understanding of its significance. I soon realized the whole map was in code and needed interpretation if I were to understand it. You can imagine my surprise when the map began to explain itself, and the understanding came forth like invisible ink slowly becoming visible.
This book is about my discovering the map and how I came to understand it. It explains how I was able to uncover the treasure when I was given the secret to its code. It is truly serendipity, finding an unbelievable great treasure when you least expect it.
SERENDIPITY
SERENDIPITY is the gift of finding something of great value unexpectedly.
Little did I realize as a young father of three children that that day of religious worship I would step out on the greatest quest a man could ever take. The quest would pit me against the theology and ideology of the peoples of the world. It would be a quest that would demand my wrestling with beasts and fire breathing dragons and slaying them. It was a task I did not realize I was to face that day as my family and I drove down the road heading for our usual religious services.
I am sure my background had something to do in preparing me for this task. I was one of seven children in the time of the great depression. My father had a thriving business and a lovely home, but lost everything. Masses of people were destitute, and I remember mowing lawns with my father and brothers for a quarter so we could buy food for the family. We were poor and like the poor found comfort in the declared promises of God set forth by our religion. Our family attended religious school and services every week and prayers every day. My mother was a devout teacher of our religious doctrines to her children. The whole family was well versed in the doctrines of our religion. Naturally, I established this same trend and teachings with my family.
What was unusual about this day was that I had been asked to accept a position to teach a class on our religion and its doctrine as I was well regarded by those in charge of the religious services. However, as well versed in the doctrines as I was I still felt unqualified for the task I had accepted even though I would be given a teaching program prepared for me. Why should I have felt unqualified for the assignment? I had grown up being instructed in the doctrines, but I had never truly studied the doctrines of our religion myself. This position demanded that if I were to teach the doctrines, I would have to study them in a sincere effort to understand what their authors were honestly saying in their writings and how they came to their understandings. I could not just blindly teach what I had been taught even though I was sure all my teachers had studied and knew the truth of what they taught. I demanded of myself a personal study of the origin of each doctrine, for I had an unmovable conviction that I dare not teach anything that could not by reason and logic prove to be of the Creator.
I discovered that my personal study gave an understanding very different from that received by the doctrines I had been taught. Such study is quite different than sitting in church, synagogue, or mosque and listening to a preacher, priest, rabbi, or mullah, etc. The study I embarked upon can be compared to archeology as it involves a great deal of digging and proving. What I found was a complete surprise. It certainly was nothing I expected to find for it became obvious I was digging in what was a mass burial site. Strangely enough what I found turned out to be the greatest find of my life. What I was able to excavate
