Of Time and Infinity: To Touch the Mind of God
()
About this ebook
Join the author on a voyage-a voyage past time into infinity.
Walk with the author as he discusses the tiniest particles of matter, and then reach out into our indescribable universe-to Black Holes and Quasars. Wonder about other dimensions and other beings. Question how microbes and trees communicate. Launch your voyage from the beginning of creation and hang on for the ride.
The purpose of, Of Time and Infinity, is to open the door of the "cage" where we have been taught to imprison our mind, and let it fly free-to look beyond the four dimensions that we are familiar with-beyond time into infinity. In doing so, we may touch the mind of God.

This book is dedicated to The Creator, for the beauty and wonders of His
creation. It is also dedicated to my wife, Margie and our children,
David, Janet and
Lynette, for their love.
FOREWORD
We live in a world of four dimensions. We can see three—right-left, up-down, back-and-forth—the dimensions of space. We are only aware of the results of the fourth dimension—time. Are there other dimensions that we are not aware of?
Is it possible that there could be other dimensions around us that we do not know about—other concepts that we are not familiar with—concepts that are foreign to our nature and our thinking?
In this book I have used the Judeo-Christian Scriptures from the New American Standard Bible as reference points.
Let me stress that this is not a religious
book and I do not wish to debate or propose dogma.
Also, without going into detail, I am going to ask you to take certain scientific theories and statements at face value. I hope that you will forgive me for that.
The purpose of this book is to open the door and let your mind fly free from the cage
we are taught to think in—to open the eyes of your mind to all possibilities—to help you look beyond the four dimensions that we are familiar with—to look beyond time into infinity. In doing so, we may touch the mind of God.

Take a voyage with me. Together we will travel past time into the far reaches of our universe and maybe even beyond. We will walk together and talk about the tiniest particle of matter and then reach out billions of years past galaxies and quasars and black holes. We will discuss how time and space can be changed. We will question the existence of spirit beings and ask many other questions that previously our minds may not have been free to ask. Together we will look at the wonderful order of an indescribable universe and wonder at the infinite intelligence that keeps it from becoming chaos.
Ready? Okay, let us start our journey from the very beginning.
When we hear the word, beginning,
what does this mean to us? The first three words of the book of Genesis—the first book of the Judeo-Christian Scriptures—are, In the beginning.
What is this beginning?
Was the beginning the instant that the universe came into being, or was it before? If it was before, can we reach back into infinity? If the beginning was when the physical universe came into being, then when did it come into being?
With the Hubble telescope we can look billions of years back in time and see our universe in various stages of its development. This shows that our universe had a beginning and will probably have some kind of an end. Our physical universe, then, exists in a capsule of time. We are somewhere between the beginning and the end.
The most acceptable theory today for the beginning of our physical universe is called the Big Bang
. Scientists have measured background radiation that is apparently the afterglow of the Big Bang, which tends to reinforce, if not prove, the theory.
This theory says that at some finite instance, calculated to be twelve to fifteen billion years ago, a point source of almost infinite, pure energy started expanding. As this energy expanded, it condensed into the physical universe that we now see.
Let me stop here and say that I am not advocating either the scientific
or the creation
theories. You might think it strange, but I am advocating both. Let us continue with this train of thought and see where it leads us.
The condensation of energy into matter follows Einstein’s formula which was the basis for the development of the nuclear bomb, E=MC².
In this equation, E
stands for energy, M
for mass or matter, and C
is a constant number, which works out to be the speed of light. This formula states that energy equals matter times the speed of light squared. This is a reversible reaction, meaning that it can go either way. In a nuclear reaction, matter becomes energy. In the Big Bang, energy became matter.
If, for a moment, we accept the Big Bang Theory, then we might want to ask, where did this energy come from? It had to originate from somewhere. What held it in place until it was released to expand? Is it possible that maybe it came into our dimension from some other dimension? If that were so, then what is this other dimension?
Because we do not think that this other dimension is an environment like ours, and we do not know how to define it, could we call it the non-material
or spiritual
dimension? We could then name it, without defining and for want of a better name, the S dimension? Also,
