My name is Andre Wright and I will start by stating a fact; anything is possible. I'm 18 years old, and just finished my final year of high school. Five months before now, I had a dream and it spawned this world in my head. A world in which I was a character named Atrum, who did something risky. He took what was thought to be impossible in his world, and fought until he could achieve the impossible; living his dreams and making them real. Its that time in my life where I need to decide what direction I'm going. After writing this, I learnt that you have to pursue your passions and never look back. Memories are to be admired and mistakes are to be learnt from, not regretted. I did the titles of the chapters of Atrum's ongoing story in Latin. The translation of Atrum's full name , 'Atrum Lucis Divum', means "dark light sky", which is the place I tried to bring the story. I tried to make it dark and gritty, and seam a gripping fantasy story in with my message. Once I started writing, the story just grew and grew to places I never imagined it could go, which is where the name 'Divum' came into play. The story to me became as big as the sky. Every aspect of this story became a metaphor for an event in my life or just a meaningful lesson to decipher. I consider this story to not really be a book, but poetry. It is the introduction, and beginning of Atrum's life. It is not a full enough story to be a book but a refined prelude. The "light" refers to the spark in Atrum and bright future he will claim with his hands. This began as just a little project I wanted to do, but as I put more hours into it, people noticed. My friends and teachers not only noticed, but were surprised at the work I put into this outside school hours. Now I hope that this story means something to anyone who reads it and brings a smile to their face, and hopefully inspires them to do what they always dreamed.

Diluculo - (Dawn)
It felt like she stood a lifetime away. The building was not far into construction so there were no walls. Separated by tons of concrete and metal rods; we were lost in chaos. That day I realized, that when something dear to you is threatened to be lost forever, a person is willing to do unspeakable things to protect it. Death was not an option. But what could I do? I was never the hero
type to begin with…just the one to be rescued. The tragic events in my life, all have a similar conclusion; where I either brave the storm, or let fear gain control, wait to be rescued and get lost in the wreckage. ‘The Facility’ was falling apart, this was reality, and no one was coming to save me this time. Sometimes there just weren’t any happy endings. But what if you had the power to change that? But it would come at a cost, the cost of losing your humanity. You would become cold hearted, and slowly but surely, your soul would begin to deteriorate and break down. Even if it was for justice, even if it spared lives, was it worth your sanity? Would you risk not being human?
Her name was Stella. I don’t know how I knew this but I just did.
Stella!
I shouted at the top of my lungs. I’m coming. Hold on.
Atrum…
she mouthed.
Our world began to crumble beneath us on the top floor; filled with the echoed screams of the outside world that awaited our demise. That was when my panic faded into unbreakable concentration and I closed my eyes. Trying to think, collect my thoughts and hold on to my grip of reality, to keep my sanity. Shaky hands balled into hard fists, adrenaline coursing through my veins and heightening my senses. I could feel my heartbeat pounding in every inch of my anxious body. Then I opened my eyes, noticing two things. That one of my balled fists was gripping an enormous sword and that Stella wasn’t scared. She believed in me, and was waiting for me to get to her. The beautiful sword with its gold crowning, felt weightless in my hand so I ran with it. Faster than I had ever ran in my life, slashing falling debris a split second before it connected to my torso. As I ran, the rain began to fall, and my boots created ripples in the puddles that began to form. Gripping my destiny through my cold fingers, I took a hard look at Stella. Trying to keep her features embedded in my mind forever. The soft gaze she kept in her warm hazel green eyes as she stared into mine, trying to read me. The kind smile she always wore that seemed to be strong enough to extinguish any sorrow in a person, her petite nose that would wrinkle if she ever got worried and locks of beautiful strawberry blonde hair that framed her entire face and extended down to her shoulders. She wore a strapless black dress, so dark that it could have been a cut out of the night sky. Along her arms, she wore grey arm warmers with red linings, and a silver belt hung on her hips.
Stella’s hands were balled into fists just like mine now.
