My People Perish for the Lack of Knowledge - Larry D. Thomas Sr.

    Doctrine of the Father

We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the author and creator of all things. The Old Testament reveals God in diverse manners; by manifesting his nature, character, and dominions. The gospels in the New Testament give us knowledge of God the Father showing the relationship of God in Jesus as Father, representing Him as the Father in the Godhead, and Jesus as Son (St. John 15:8, 14:20). Jesus also gives God the distinction of Fatherhood to all believers when he explains God in the light of your Father in Heaven (St. Matthew 11:25).

    1) Where did God come from? (Genesis 1:1)

    2) What is God? (St. John 4:24)

    3) Is God limited in power? (Revelation 19:6)

    4) Is God everywhere at the same time? (Psalms 139:7-10)

    5) Is God a God of love? (I John 4:7-10)

    6) Will God forgive? (Psalms 103:1-3)

    7) Will God have mercy? (Psalms 103: 8-11)

    8) Is God a good God? (Psalms 34:8)

    9) Is God eternal? (Psalms 90:2)

    10) Will God always be there for you? (Hebrews 13:5, 6; Psalms 46:1)

    Doctrine of the Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the second person in the godhead of the Trinity or Triune Godhead. We believe that Jesus was and is eternal in his person and nature as the Son of God who was with God in the beginning of creation (St. John 1:1). We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin called Mary according to the Scripture (St. Matthew 1:18), thus giving rise to our fundamental belief in the virgin birth and to all of the miraculous events surrounding this phenomenon (St. Matthew 1:18-25). We believe that Jesus Christ became the suffering servant to man; this suffering servant came back seeking to redeem man from sin and to reconcile him back to God, his Father (Romans 5:10). We believe that Jesus Christ is standing now as mediator between God and man (I Timothy 2:5).

    1) Who is Jesus’ father? Joseph or Almighty God? (Luke 1:30-35)

    2) Why not _____? (Psalms 51:5, Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23)

    3) Was Jesus’ mother a virgin? (Luke 1:27, Luke 1:34)

    4) Was Jesus only a prophet or was he God (the Son)? (Matthew 4:17, Mark 9:2-8, Philippians 2:6, 9-11, Ephesians 1:20-23).

    5) What was Jesus’ purpose? (Luke 19:10, Luke 4:18)

    6) How was Jesus to save man? (Romans 5:8-11)

    7) Did Jesus sin? (Hebrews 9:14)

    8) How did Jesus die? (Matthew 27:31)

    9) Did Jesus stay in the grave? (Matthew 28:1-6)

    10) Where is Jesus now? (I Timothy 2:5, Romans 8:34)

    Teaching on the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, proceeds from the Father and the Son, is of the same substance, equal in power and glory, and is, together with the Father and the Son, to be believed in, obeyed and worshipped. The Holy Ghost is a gift bestowed upon the believer, making him a more effective witness for service in the world. He teaches and guides one in all truth (John 16:13, Acts 1:8, 8:39)

    1) Who is the Holy Ghost? (1 John 5:7)

    2) What is the Holy Ghost? (John 15:26)

    3) When was the Holy Ghost given?
