- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I read this book to my grandchildren and grandnephew. My nephew is a volunteer firefighter, so this book was especially interesting to them. The illlustrations are photographs so that added to the information given in the story. There were very lively discussions as I read this story as they had all seen and sat in a real firetruck. This is a great book to read with children as well as to use in a primary classroom when learning about community helpers, transportation, safety etc. A great non-fiction book for all school, public and classroom libraries. Victoria Marcos is the author of many of the "My Favorite" book series for young children and I have not been disappointed yet. The publisher, Xist publishing, generously provided me with a copy of this book. The rating, ideas and opinions are my own.
