The Granny JJ Adventures: Guyana's Daily Detective
()
About this ebook
Granny JJ has ten children, lots of grandchildren - and should be relaxing in her old age. But she can't! She won't!
Not while there are vexing crimes going on in the local Guyana villages - and no-one is solving them. So, she'll have to do it!
Can she figure out the identity of the sneaky 'blackout thief?' Can she catch the scamps that stole Winston's snow cone syrup?
Can this wily, smart (and cranky) old lady really be Guyana's Daily Detective?
Praise for The Granny JJ Adventures
"A unique and fantastic children's book...[I] recommend it both for leisure/home reading and as an educational resource too."
Neal Zetter, best-selling, award-winning UK author and children's poet. (Wishing Shelf Independent Book Award Winner 2015, BookTrust Top 20 Favourite 2016, Reading Agency Top Twenty 2017)
Investigate with Granny JJ as she gains 'A Dag named Rascal', solves 'The Case of the Enormous Eddos', outsmarts the thieves in 'The Case of the Precious Pastries' and battles with a Bacoo (a mischievous Guyanese gremlin) - and many more.
Written in Guyanese English (Creole) the book is filled with wonderful illustrations of Guyanese life, well-known proverbs and most of all seeks to show traditional Caribbean values in a modern world.
As a bonus - the pictures in the Granny JJ Adventure can also be colored in giving you and your child additional hours of fun.
"I must congratulate you on a well put together book. The story line really thumps along and this is of great advantage when trying to hold the attention of young readers."
Hamley Case, High Commissioner for Guyana
Suitable for children 8+
