I am a writer of horror and psychological thriller short stories, having done so for the last decade or so. From that passion for scary and unsettling tales came my drive to create Surefire Stories which is my motivation to create solid reading material for those interested in the same genre that I enjoy. I try to bring a new and creative style for readers who aren't looking for a two chapter description of a character, but instead want to have a story that is always sending them in different directions. My stories can be gruesome, but for me and other readers of horror it's a staple to the entertainment value I hope to bring. I am a very open person to feedback as I'm always looking for ways to improve my writing styles. While I have a lot of inspirations to my writing when it comes to other authors, I really enjoy the quick thrills of a short story. Many of my writings are inspired from shows like the Twilight Zone and the Outer Limits, but with a much less TV-friendly approach. The story that really jump started my interest in writing these types of literary works is one by Shirley Jackson titled "The Lottery". For those who haven't read it I suggest doing so if you are curious what my writing styles include.

A massive breeze swirled through the clustered oaks and maples near the lonely stretch of road occupied by a hastening baby blue convertible. The remnant ruffled the scarf of the vehicle's female passenger as she laid her head back on the front-seat head rest. Sunlight glinted off her sunglasses, she smiled. slowly took them off and turned her attention to her male counterpart in the driver's seat.
He was dressed in a well-manicured suit coat ensemble, something he expected to find at a high class venue and stand out in style. Living for money was his most time-consuming pastime, but for now his focus was on the road. That is, until the woman's head turn caught his eye and he met her stare with a widening smile.
You seem pretty happy,
the man said as his eyesight found the road again.
I'm a little excited,
she hinted while her strawberry blonde hair whipped in the wind. But I'm also a bit overwhelmed, Felix. I guess I've never thought about just packing up and making such a leap with my life.
I get it sweetheart, trust me,
he said. This is our chance to finally move on with what we've always wanted to do. I mean...don't you feel better now that we finally agreed on moving out here, Dezzi?
The smile on the young woman's face stayed, as if to answer his question without having to admit she changed her mind. She sat in one of her new sundresses Felix had bought her for their family adventure. The smooth skin and bright blue eyes that caught Felix's attention the first time he saw her sparkled in the sunlight. Her head swiveled back into a forward-facing position as the couple's car raced farther into an increasingly thicker tree line.
Felix lit a cigarette. He continued down the winding path into the wooded area a few miles out of the city. His dreams were finally coming true. He thought to himself how rough of a time it had been to get to this point in his life.
From living a troubled childhood to becoming a successful entrepreneur, it was an ever-changing tale of how keeping an aggressive attitude towards your goals can bring you anything you could dream of. And that's what Felix desired most about the love of his life, Dezzi.
It was effortless to say she wasn't the easiest woman to lock down into a relationship, let alone convince to leave everything behind to run away with him. Yet, Felix only acquired his opportunity to do so after hiring her into his expanding business over a year ago.
That same opportunity knocked on his
