As man-kind rebuilds what’s left of the known world, baby-stealing faeries, invisible soldiers, and ancient gods all struggle for power. Everyone, child or God, knows to fear the monsters that come out after dusk. But when 16-year-old Jade Austin emerges from the city’s outskirts in the dead of night, guarded by a terrifying beast, one can’t help but wonder: if not a monster, what the hell is it that she’s running from?
