    Welcome to Hell Zoo.

My name is Tiba Bato , and I’ll be your guide for Hell Zoo’s special Valentine’s Day Exhibit.

Take a good look at your surroundings. Before we proceed, you’ll need a basic understanding of the layout of the exhibits and each enclosure within. I won’t go over this again, so pay attention now.

Behind me is the entrance to one of our exhibits. Look at the path before you. A wide, white stripe is painted on either side of the dark asphalt path to offer high contrast and good visibility even in dim lighting. Within the enclosures, black lights in the ceiling above make those lines stand out even more.

Do not touch those white lines. Walk single-file along the neon green line in the center of the path. The path itself is broad enough so that even if you trip, you should not come close to the lines on either side as long as you follow the center stripe. Remember, this is for your safety.

Between each habitat is an oasis like the one we’re standing in, with bottled water and clean restrooms. We will take a 10-minute break between each habitat. Because of how the stories are impressed upon your minds, the long breaks are required.

There’s no need to raise your hand, Mr.?

Spaulding. Thank you. Ah, exactly how are the stories ‘impressed?’

You didn’t read the brochure, did you? Well, in that case, I’m glad you asked now. How many of you neglected to read the brochure? A show of hands, please.

Only three? Good. All right, then. Put simply, I am a nightmare demon. Not evil, Mr. Spaulding, I assure you. I am what’s called a Trustee. I’m from the Purgatory exhibit. As it pertains to the tour, I act as a conduit from the minds of the sinners, monsters, or demons within each habitat to the minds of our guests. I offer you a glimpse directly into their memories and allow you to relive them almost as though they were your own.

My powers are strictly limited to this function by the wards below, above, and around us. You are quite safe with me.

    Uh, I’d rather not...

Of course, I understand, Mr. Spaulding. One of our human guides will see you out.

Liam, please escort Mr. Spaulding—and anyone else who didn’t read the brochure and would like to leave at this point—to the exit.

For the rest of you, Liam, Oliva, and Noah are human. As long as you remain between the white lines, you’re safe.

Now, if you’re ready to proceed?

Oh! Mr. Spaulding. Decided to stay,
