About this ebook

An Endless Procession of Clouds is a selection of poems written over 10 years in the U.S. and Europe, all while “looking up”. A habit of cloud-watching that began at a brick and iron-framed window in Brooklyn matured into a meditative act. Birth, death and life in between, wrapped in The Other World, all happen beneath the wise and ephemeral bodies of clouds. Literary skill meets the urgency of modern life in this debut collection. Celeste Ramos is a writer of poetry, fiction and short film from New York City.

I am a writer of poetry, fiction, short film and essays from New York City, now living in London. My writing moves in the same realms as Richard Matheson and what he coined as the "supernormal" -- a place where what we deem to be supernatural or otherwise impossible in this life is real with real consequences. This is not the same as fantasy. It is a universe where genies genies exist, dreams can be entered and exited through doors, and clouds transport us through time. My latest book, An Endless Procession of Clouds, is a collection of poems from the last 10 years inspired by or written while cloud-watching. Like the variations of clouds that exist, the poems move from deep dark to bright white, broaching issues like depression, mortality, abuse, redemption, cultural identity, gender norms and much more.
