    ABOUT THE AUTHOR

    Preface

With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I wrote this book to expound on the three sins of the world. When God created humanity, His plan was for us to live a prosperous and peaceful life. For this to be a reality our responsibility was to obey His commands. That did not happen. Disobedience to God and yielding to Satan’s temptations resulted in sin and man’s downfall.

When a person sins, it destroys oneself and others. Often, one small insignificant action snowballs into a significant, catastrophic devastation. The destruction and catastrophic devastation are the tribulations we endure in this world. To minimize committing acts of sin, we should consistently aspire to live like Jesus - our role model, our Savior. To succeed in living like Jesus, we must be filled with the Holy Spirit and read/meditate daily on the Word of God.

Various spiritual resources are available for us to grow and live like Jesus: churches, biblical references, religious books, spiritual broadcasts, testimonies, etc. However, we must assess all spiritual resources embraced against the Word of God to ensure that we are not misled by false teaching.

This book is not a fix-all nor is it a book of condemnation or judgement. Instead, it is a means, in conjunction with other spiritual resources, to assist in daily Christian living.

I pray this book will be a catalyst in edifying the Body of Christ. As you read it, engage with the stories and scenarios, and be awakened to the temptations that result in sin. I hope that God grant you wisdom, understanding, and knowledge for the correct application of His Word so that you may walk in victory, have life, and live it more abundantly.

    Introduction

Why are little children mistreated? Why are innocent people murdered? Why do people experience starvation? Why does God allow His creation to experience such horrific acts? These are questions I’m sure many of us occasionally ponder. However, we must understand that God did not plan for us to live with heartaches. These things occur because of sin. Sin cause tribulations for victims and perpetrators. The result of sin is always pain, discomfort, worry, sorrow, and various other types of suffering. Sometimes, the problems we experience directly result from the sin in which we choose to partake. At other times, we have no control over the problems we encounter. Whether our submissions or another’s actions cause the sins; we deal with the consequences, undesirable emotions, or physical discomfort.

Our life experiences consistently transition from one degree to another when faced with various trials and tribulations. The volume of these experiences may leave us feeling overwhelmed and disparaged. When the flesh suffers discomfort, it becomes weak, succumbs to the world’s temptations, and engages in acts of sin. Why is this so important to know? A person born into this world, is born of a sinful nature. Since we are born into sin, this plays a significant role in how we live and respond to hardships. Having a determined mind to reject our sinful nature and the way of the world is a start. Depending on the Holy Spirit to lead us is the foundation. To gain leverage on living a Christian life, it is imperative to understand the leading cause of sin and why we commit acts of sin.

Every sin falls under the three sins of the world: lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Satan, our accuser, is clever at deceiving and tempting God’s creation – especially those who profess to be Christians or have committed to following God’s will and way – as he has done since the inception of sin. This book will explore history from the Bible and scenarios from daily experiences to identify Satan’s tactics. Because he is crafty in his approach and ways of persuasion, we need to be girded with the armor of God and be consciously aware of our internal thoughts. When we acknowledge thoughts that enter our minds, we should remind ourselves of God’s instructions and immediately align our thoughts with His Word. When we act on thoughts, we should do so with The Belt of Truth. (See Ephesians 6:14). Using The Belt of Truth is how we stand firm against all the devil’s tactics. Nevertheless, if we fall into temptation, we can be confident that God can use our mishaps to strengthen our relationship with Him and increase our faith in Him.

As you delve into this book, you will encounter frequent use of certain words and phrases. Please refer to the context for relevant meaning as a guide in facilitating comprehension. For instance, you will see the expression "of the world often in this book. In this book, that phrase speaks of those things that are specifically catered to life on Earth (e.g., sex, the love of money, self-gratification) used outside of God’s will. In addition, you will see the word flesh" in this book. This word has different meanings in the Bible. Flesh can refer to the human body or parts of
