Dubai - The Dreamland!

Obtaining a job in one of the most popular cities of the world is not for anyone, in fact IT IS for almost everyone once you know what to do!

The purpose of this book is to make dreams come true to get a job in one of the most multi-cultural and popular cities in the world, where safety is one of the highest and tax-free. Opportunities are endless for anyone who wants to pursue this goal and plan a happy future and career.

The Chapters were written in a certain order to facilitate your understanding and to help you create your action plan to bring you to Dubai and make you stay by finding a secure and happy new job. You can follow the order of the chapters or you can choose to read first the chapters that most appeal to you and seem more urgent in your current circumstance.

Many of the suggestions given can also be applied when looking for a job outside of Dubai and the efficiency of LinkedIn® networking, which I emphasize throughout the 15 chapters, varies from country to country and can have more or less impact in different parts of the world.

Four things I urge you to keep in mind to achieve this goal: Envision, Plan, Focus and Commit!

Do you really know what you want?!

One of the most challenging factors I come across in professionals looking for a new job is that they either don’t really know what they want or they are looking for a new job that they don’t feel passionate about.

Passion and true interest make a whole difference in the success of obtaining a new job. Our brain is programmed to achieve our desires, whether they are realistic or not. Having the need to have a new job doesn’t necessarily mean having the passion and the will for the same. When people are not genuinely interested in working for jobs that they look for this could lead into procrastination and a lot of time wasted instead of taking action.

Procrastination, the act of delaying in executing tasks, always leaving for later, is one of the main enemies that leads towards failure and frustration which will not employ you anytime soon if you have this habit and do nothing to change it.

First things first!

Determine what you really want: Do you want to continue doing the same type of job you have been doing? Do you want to move to a new career? Do you want to work in a specific job because it pays well although you don’t like it or at least not too much? If you don’t have the answer for the above then stop for a moment and think: If today you were a millionaire, had absolutely no need to work for money but still had to work, what would you be doing as a purpose in life? Would you be helping other people? How? Would you be writing to a magazine, book or newspaper and if so for what industries and which subjects would you talk about? Would you be a speaker doing public speaking? What subject or things really interest you?

Exercise: Things I would be doing or working with if I absolutely had no need for monthly income.

WRITE IT DOWN NOW!

Once you have written down what you would be doing if you didn’t need income you can then find out what your inspirations are and have a direction in life and be able to create a strategy by putting together an action plan.

I know that at this stage some people might be thinking and saying: I have done this work most of my life and I would not be given a chance to get a job in what I really want to work with. I will show you in the next chapter how you can do it.

Before moving forward I would like to ask you to think about if there is a chance of you being an ego - centered person. If so, get rid of your ego when taking actions and making decisions! Ego, false image is our worst enemy towards success and happiness. Replace it with humility.
