That’s because ice cream is a dessert that’s so tasteful and refreshing with a range of flavors that you can never get tired of.
As a matter of fact, ice cream is the ultimate treat, enjoyed everywhere and served in many different ways. Whether it’s to enjoy at a birthday, dinner or beach party or served in a cup, a cone or double cone, ice cream goes with everything and it’s the perfect treat for any season. Ice cream is a delight. It drives away sadness and lightens up the faces of everyone who takes it.

Other frozen desserts of interest are:
Gelato: is a silky Italian ice cream. It is really creamy because it’s made with whole milk and cream and contains less than 55% air. It can be made in an array of flavors. From everyone favorite chocolate and strawberry, to fresh and exciting flavors like hazelnuts, pistachio, cake batter or dulce deleche. The exciting thing about it is that during the summer you can use any seasonal fruit to make the most wonderful fruit ice cream and other frozen dessert. Fruits like blueberry, mango, watermelon and cantaloupe can also be used. Gelato is really refreshing.
Sorbet: Formerly used as a refresher between courses, sorbet has grown in popularity and is currently enjoyed as a dinner desserts in many homes. The reasons are due to its simplicity, availability of ingredients and lower fat content as compared to the traditional desserts. It is simple to make, uses a few regular ingredients and contains limited fat.
Various seasonal fruits can be used but note that the taste of sorbets depends to a large extent, on the ripeness and sweetness of the fruit or juice used. You could use sugar in place of tart fruit or take out the sugar entirely if the fruit is very ripe. Once frozen, the ice cream will not taste as sweet as the mixture did.
The Electric Ice Cream Maker
There are different types of electric ice cream makers in the market that are convenient, affordable and easy to use. They all come with a freezer bowl and a paddle that is run with an electric motor. The basic components of an electric ice maker/ machines are:
Base: This is where the motor is housed. It is also where the electrical cord is stored.
Controls: Most models only have a simple on-off dial that is located on the front of the base. A few others have additional features like timers and options for changing the speed of the motor.
Freezer Bowl: Most ice cream makers come with a removable bowl that is insulated with a specially formulated cooling liquid. Once the liquid is completely frozen and the bowl is rotating inside the machine, the wet mixture content is turned to ice cream or sorbet.
The bowl must be kept frozen ahead of time. Therefore, it is advisable to keep the bowl in the freezer when it isn’t being used.
