About this ebook
The Drazon is dead, and the Demons have been eradicated from the Elven Empire. Now the Elves can begin anew, and this is exactly what they are about to do. Their lands are scarred by the war, their original Kingdoms fragmented and their people are in need of healing as much as the world around them. The boundary has been raised, to separate the Elven Empire from the rest of the world, and they settle down to work.
The new era starts with the Elven Kingdoms uniting as the One Empire, Life Mates are found, relationships cemented, and peace reigns. There is no better time to rebuild their world, and raise a family. First, the men who took advantage of Gabriel and Eden's spell must convince their Life Mates that what they did was not such a bad thing. That could take a while, especially for any Male Elf who is bonded to a Light Elven Female.

I don’t really know what to say about myself.I have been writing books since before I became a teenager. Most are still hidden in the closet. I used to make up my own stories as a child, everyone used to act them out while we were playing outside. As a teenager someone issued me a challenge. I told her that her stories stunk, she told me to do better. My job growing up was to play guardian to my little brother, keep him safe. That meant I ended up getting into more fights than enough – makes sense now that I write about warriors. My family will try to tell you that I’m not innocent, I have a personality that keeps them on their toes. Over my lifetime and theirs I have earn several nicknames – The Godmother, The Evil Christmas Elf (comes from making my nieces wrap their own Christmas presents), Mistress of Ambush. My favorite response to them when they try to get me into trouble is just to look at them with a wide doe eyed expression and say “Moi?????”I have a seal point Siamese cat named Snoop, named after my favorite cartoon character and hobby. I have a “healthy” but small collection of Snoopy memorabilia. He is a character alright; never met a cat who can talk back like he does. He expects daily dosages of adoration on his schedule when he wants it – not when it’s convenient for me and he HATES snow.I come from a very large family (mostly brothers) and I could outrun the whole works of them (I’m the shortest!). It was called survival. This book has been in the making for a long time now. Over a half a year to write it, about the same amount of time to edit it, and probably about the same amount of time to get the art work and website! I have learned you can’t control the timelines of other people – Murphy likes to step in.So for now I am setting up good luck charms everywhere... didn’t know I had that many stuffed Snoopy’s. *Fingers, legs, toes, eyes and anything else I can crossed*

I would like to take this time to thank my editing team, Eniko, Fran, Morganna, Candice and Sarah for their continued support and efforts in correcting my poor grammar and literary efforts. Without them my books would be unfit for reading. A good backup team is priceless and I hope to one day be able to find a way to repay each of you for your support… and Becca… what can we say, you continue to be my foremost reason for being out in the public eye, your talents are endless. And, last but definitely not least, I would like to thank Cora Graphics for the wonderful job she did on my cover. A good cover is priceless and you have made this one as masterpiece.
Rising from the Ashes
PROLOGUE:
Åndorin flew his Battle Bird over the battlefield in the Dark Elven Kingdom one last time, and then gave the signal to his Division to follow him. They were finished fighting in this part of the Elven Empire, and were eager to continue. Their mounts could smell Demon Hordes in the distance, and wanted nothing more than to move on so they could engage them in battle. He knew that the Demons they were sensing were a lot further away than anyone realized. This land was larger than his people had first thought and, if they wanted to arrive in time for the war in the Light Elven Kingdom, they would need the Wizards to open a portal.
With all this is in mind, Åndorin signaled his wishes to a couple of the War Wizards on the ground, and a huge portal opened in the sky to connect him to the battle going on in the Light Elven Kingdom. He issued the order and they quickly disappeared through the portal, and into the battle that had already begun. The first thing he did was quickly scan the horizon, as well as the ground beneath them, to get a better idea of what was going on. It would make no sense to fly blind into the battle. In fact, it might even cause trouble for those who had already set things in motion. From what little he had heard of the High Lord General Gabriel Eagle Claw, that wouldn’t sit well with him. That was one Elf he didn’t want to cross.
After returning from checking on the progress of one of the battles in the Elven Empire to his own lands in the Elven Nation, Åndorin watched General Torasc Eagle Claw send signals towards different sections of the armed forces. He knew the line of command was about to change. General Torasc was the Lord General in the Elven Nation and, when their forces crossed over the boundary for the last time, even their General would be taking orders from another. In the part of the Elven Empire where they were going, it would be the High Lord General Gabriel Eagle Claw that was in charge, and they would all answer to him.
General Torasc studied the Elves that had come with him, to see if there were any signs of discord with his decision to place command in the hands of an unknown Elven General. He was pleased to see there was none; everyone appeared to be in accord with him. He was placing a lot of faith in the High Lord Gabriel Eagle Claw, and he had the feeling that Elf knew it and felt humbled by the honor. He doubted if Gabriel had any real idea how much pressure had been placed upon his shoulders. The Elven forces of the Nation were immense. Gabriel would find that out soon enough, for they were about to enter the battle. He ordered twenty of their most powerful Wizards to begin to build the massive portals that would be needed to make the trip, and then connected with Larien and Alyssa.
Are your forces ready to join the main forces of the battle, or are you too busy with the fight you are involved in?
We are ready, and the High Lord General Gabriel Eagle Claw is anxiously awaiting your arrival.
Alyssa replied. She then reached out with her talent to form a link with Larien so they could connect to Gabriel.
Alyssa felt the High Lord General Gabriel Eagle Claw’s essence, and she knew there was going to be problems controlling their link. Gabriel wasn’t able to center his focus on her, he was too busy, and was going to need most, if not all of it, to get the information she needed from him. It was not to be, as his mind was on the battle. She knew that meant that he was at the front of the Elven Armed Forces so he could assume complete control of his armies. He would get more out of his men if he led them.
The High Lord General Gabriel Eagle Claw could feel Alyssa’s ire, as they connected, and he didn’t wait for her to waste precious time venting her frustration.
General Alyssa Eagle Claw, this is the High Lord General Gabriel Eagle Claw, connect me with General Torasc immediately. We are under attack. I might not have the chance to speak with him later. I need his attention now.
Gabriel ordered.
Alyssa didn’t think twice about what she needed to do. She needed to guarantee General Torasc Eagle Claw that he would be able to communicate with General Gabriel, while Larien held their sibling bond together. The link was second nature for the both of them.
Like the High Lord General Gabriel Eagle Claw, General Torasc Eagle Claw didn’t waste time on protocol. He could see how things were going through Gabriel’s mind, and it didn’t look good.
I need clear images, so I can forward them to the Wizards, along with the accompanying orders now, General Gabriel,
General Torasc commanded.
Within moments, General Torasc’s mind was flooded with images from Gabriel, which he transferred to the different divisions of his own armies.
Tratchars first. Wizards, open the portal to these sites,
General Torasc Eagle Claw provided the coordinates. Now, march. Your time has come. The enemy has already been engaged in battle, your fighting expertise is needed.
Within moments, the entire Tratchar army had moved through the portal and into the warzone that they were best suited for, the forest that separated the Light and Dark Elven Kingdoms. The last anyone saw of their movements, before their portal closed, was the forest coming to life, and it seemed to move. This was something the Elves of the Elven Nation were familiar with, but no one in the Elven Empire had ever seen before. It didn’t matter, for most of them were too busy to even notice.
General Åndorin, Battle Birds to the front. Wizards, prepare your armies. Mounted cavalry from the Elven Desert Kingdom, ready your mounts to ride.
General Torasc ordered.
A huge portal opened in front of the advancing forces, held in place by the armies of the advancing War Wizards. The moment the portals appeared before them, the troops began to move. The Desert forces urged their horses into a gallop and followed. As gateways opened in the skies above, the avians dove into the maws of the still growing portals to fly straight into battle.
This was the moment Åndorin had waited for all of his life. As High Commander of the Battle Bird Brigade, it was his responsibility to lead the charge into war. This was what they had been trained to do and they were proud to live the moment. The prophecies in the archives predicted this would be an epic battle. The Oracles warned of overconfidence. He was determined not to fail. The dreams of his ancestors were finally coming to pass. They were about to bring about the annihilation of the Demon Hordes. Today, the might of the Demon Hordes would come to an end, and his people would be free to live as the fates had intended. He knew better than to believe that the Elven forces would come out of this without any casualties; no war had ever been fought painlessly. This one would be no different, but it had more purpose than most, for the evil that had ruled over them for so long was about to be stamped out.
As Åndorin led his Brigade of Battle Birds through the center of the immense portal that opened before them, he could see the enormity of the task they were facing. He looked long and hard at the masses before him and his only thought was one of awe. The scope of what he was
