    Bear Hugged - Nikki Nixon

    Table of Contents

    Bear Hugged

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the bells are ringing- Fiona chirped, dancing around the second story alderwoood floor, moving between the white walled living room and the gray colored kitchen. She caught herself in the mirror and ran her hands through her curly blonde hair, her blue eyes sparkling happiness.

Do you ever realize how annoying you sound? Tulip asked.

You just don’t understand it because you’re not in love yet.

So, what are the plans for today?

Max has a picnic planned for us.

You know there are places called restaurants.

This will be more romantic and private.

The sing song sound of the doorbell echoed throughout the home. I’ll get it, Tulip got up and walked down the staircase opening the front door to Maxwell.

    Afternoon, Maxie Max, Tulip said.

Maxwell Hatfield struck a handsome figure at five-ten and head full of tousled blonde hair. A black short sleeved short showcased veiny biceps and faded blue jeans could not hold his muscular derriere.

His blue eyes, however, as clear as the spring sky, always arrested Fiona's attention as she came down the steps.

    Hey, he muttered.

You're really early this time. Earlier than usual.

Yeah, I know. Max's demeanor seemed more subdued than usual, Fiona noted.

    Are you okay? Fiona asked.

Yeah, Maxwell said, looking almost annoyed.
