About this ebook

Dark, Gory, and Totally Sexy! Continue the #1 Bestselling Dark Paranormal Series with Sloane in A Perpetual Heart!

“For years, the unyielding power of air has tried to force its way out, seeping through my pores and commanding me to let go, to stop stifling it and just be free. But I can’t. I won’t do that to my sister. Jacey wants nothing to do with the magical world we come from, and I have to respect her wishes.

Even though she possesses more power in a single finger than an entire coven of witches.”

Sloane, the air elemental, floats through life behind a cloak. Shielding the world from her abilities. All because her sister Jacey is too afraid of her own powers to join in. But now Sloane has found Lenora and the coven of wayward witches, a place where she’s accepted. A place she can call home.

But they’ll need the aid of Sloane’s reluctant sister if they truly want to complete the ritual for immortality that they’ve all worked so hard towards.

Can they convince Jacey to help? Or will everything be swept away in the wind?

    About the Author

    Chapter One

Music thumped like a second heartbeat in her chest, but Sloane stopped gyrating, a bit frustrated with the random guy named Lincoln. Usually, she was pretty decent at picking good dancers, but this guy couldn’t keep a beat if it meant life or death. She could be pounding him in the head with a sledgehammer to the rhythm of the music, and he would still be off.

She sighed and closed her eyes, whipping a breeze to cool the sweltering air around her. The long silver hair that adorned her head caressed the skin of her arms. The dance floor was packed solid, and she had to lean close to Lincoln to tell him, I think I just want to sit and have a drink. Really, she wanted to do what she’d come there to do–go home with a man, have a fun little tryst, and be on her way.

Lincoln didn’t seem to mind that she was done grinding. In fact, he seemed relieved as he followed her to the bar and plunked a twenty on the counter, ordering her another whiskey sour and himself another shot.

So, why haven’t I ever seen you here before? he shouted over the din of the crowd and the blaring music.

That was a trick Sloane kept up her sleeve. As a witch, her affinity for air allowed her to create a cloudlike shroud around herself so that no one really noticed her unless she wanted them to. She could come and go as she pleased.

    Like the wind.

Besides, she never wanted to embarrass her sister. She always had to be careful.

Jacey’s powers were far stronger than hers, but Sloane’s little sister wanted nothing to do with magic and liked to deny that she was even a witch. She pretended to be mundane, and she had her stupid mundane boyfriend here tonight. The last thing Jacey wanted the boring young man to think was that she might be anything like her flighty older sister.

To Lincoln, Sloane turned and winked. I’m new in town. It’s my first time here.

He gave her a cocky half-smile. He was a handsome man, but he didn’t need to be arrogant. Beginner’s luck, I guess.

Trying not to roll her eyes, Sloane replied, "I guess. I’m going
