About this ebook

Will Reylin be brave enough to take both men into her heart…and her bed?

Reylin Foster never asked for Rune and Tristian's devotion, but they gave it to her. They've waited patiently for her to come to terms with the fact that they're meant to be together…all of them. But Rey knows what they're proposing just isn't normal—a wolf doesn't have two mates—and she refuses to be the subject of pack gossip, despite the fact that she loves both men.

When their pack is attacked and the life of her cousin's human mate hangs in the balance, Reylin fights to save those she loves. She's not the kind of girl who's willing to let the guys do all the fighting. But Rune and Tristian stay right by her side. They will protect the woman they love.

The thought of losing Reylin makes them more determined than ever to convince her to finally accept her destiny. She's brave enough to fight without a second thought, but is she brave enough to accept them as her mates?

First though they must defeat the enemy, and the alpha of this rogue pack is out for blood. He needs females for his pack, and he'll take them by force, but he wants more than that—he wants revenge for a past wrong.

    Chapter 1

Embers drifted down from the sky like glowing dust motes. Reylin Foster’s throat constricted as she fought tears, watching the farmhouse burn. Never the type to go to the bunker and hide with the other women and children, she stayed with the men. Ethan motioned for her. Reylin went to the gate, holding her rifle cocked, ready to enact the revenge ablaze in her soul.

Ethan’s brow furrowed. Is Sabrina safe?

They didn’t take her, so I don’t think this was about humans. This was about Bianca. They went right to the farmhouse. Sabrina just happened to be there. Reylin shook her head. She’s unconscious. Aunt Janna is doing all she can.

Hate. That was the only word to describe the hard look in Ethan’s cold blue eyes as they narrowed. We’ll kill them. All of them. I don’t care if they’re weres, this is war. He put his hand on her shoulder. If any of them come back, don’t fuck around with warning shots.

Reylin nodded. The interloper werewolves were nothing like their pack. Anger melted the icy shock in her veins, making her blood run hot and cold as she watched men rush toward the common house with her cousin Law, their alpha, lying on a makeshift stretcher. His mate—wife since she was human—Bianca Archer, had been kidnapped by the assholes who’d committed the arson.

Ethan hurried away in the direction of the common house, likely to check on his woman. Reylin turned back with her gun trained on the gate. She’d never killed anyone. But I will. After tonight, I’m ready to take a life, many lives. I’ll kill everyone who did this.

What the fuck, Rey? Rune shouted as he ran over.

Reylin flinched and glared at him. I’m a better shot than a lot of the guys. Law’s father taught me. You know that. Back off.

Putting up his hands, Rune shrugged. I don’t want to see you get hurt. We don’t know why those guys took Bianca or what they plan to do to her. I think you’d be safer in the security of the bunker.

We all would be safer in the bunker. Should the men go hide too?

Rune ran his hand through his thick, albeit short, dark brown hair. No—

Exactly. Don’t be a sexist jerk. Reylin renewed her focus on the gate.

Rune growled, and Rey heard the wolf, not the man, in the sound. She turned to look at him. His unique eyes, one blue and one brown, narrowed. The corners of his lips turned down. She backed away from him. I must make this right.

Propping the gun against the side of the fence, she looked at him and put her hands on her hips, fighting the urge to slap his handsome face. Intensity always gave her wolf room to surface, and the primal creature in her soul wanted out. The change began as a twitch of her facial muscles. Hair sprouted on her arms and cheeks. She bared her fangs at him.

Rey, calm down. Rune held his hands out. I’m not saying you aren’t a good shot. I just need to know you’re safe. Sorrow clouded his expression. I can’t lose you.

Those words were a dagger in her heart; so much so, she raised a hand to her chest. Friends had died today. Good people. Even a child. Pain radiated through her chest as she pushed the memory of watching the light in six-year-old Mia’s eyes die. They will pay.

Rune fixed his unusual eyes on her. His brow furrowed. He didn’t appear mad, just concerned.

It’s been a bad day. He sighed, swallowed, and looked away. You don’t have to do this. You don’t always have to pretend to be the tough girl.

Fuck you. Reylin’s eyes narrowed. "I am the tough girl."

Rune looked at her, and for a moment something akin to pride shone, then he glared. No one here blames you.

Flinching, Reylin looked down at his boots. She bit her lip. How did he know she felt that, the weight of it all, the responsibility? So many deaths would have been avoided if she’d signaled a warning five minutes sooner.

I—I had no idea they— A sob choked her.

He wrapped his arms around her, and for once she didn’t fight him. No one would have assumed something like this could happen. You couldn’t have known, and neither could Law.

    She shook her head. But—

But nothing, Rune cut her off. "We followed tradition and greeted those bastards with caution. You are not responsible."

They attacked on my watch. I should have...sensed something.

Rune shrugged. Any one of us would have called Law. Any alpha would have gone out to meet a stranger were, but when it’s an alpha who comes into new territory, there is definitely a meeting. This isn’t on anyone except the monster that attacked unarmed women and children.

A cascade of emotion threatened to spill out of her, but Reylin held it together. If she started to cry, she’d never stop, and right now she needed revenge.

Taking a shaky breath, she pushed away from Rune. I’ll mourn later. Now, we hunt.

He nodded. My wolf could use a good run.

    Chapter 2

The hair stood up on the back of Kane Wolfe’s neck. Something in his town wasn’t right. His men had reported a pack of strangers arriving, but so far the newcomers had behaved like polite guests. Maybe they don’t have an alpha. Maybe they do? No alpha usually meant trouble, but an alpha who didn’t make any effort to introduce himself and declare his business was an outright insult, and it was probably a power-play.

Kane’s door crashed open. Nik Martin stood in the doorway with terror etched on his face. Kane fought to hide the panic welling up. Law Foster was mated to Kane’s human daughter, Bianca. Nik was Foster’s beta wolf, and he was mated to Foster’s sister, Joy.

Kane stood. He leaned against his desk to hide his shaking. Do you have a death wish?

    Nik paled. I—

Spit it out for God’s sake. What’s happened to Foster now?

    He’s hurt, bad.

Kane curled his fingers into a fist.
