The Acne Guide - Osama Ajmal

    Introduction

Acne, what is acne? Do you suffer from acne too? This is the most skin problem people face and global statistics show that about 85% men and women suffer from acne worldwide, they suffer at one point in their lives. Most commonly they suffer in their teenage phase of life. Acne is not only linked to face instead people also have acne on their chest or at the back.

Let's start with the basics. Acne which is also known as acne vulgaris is characterized as a skin disease (don't get scared, it is treatable) due to hair follicles when they are clogged with dead skin cells and naturally occurring oil from the skin, known as sebum. Acne is characterized by blackheads or whiteheads, pimples and scarring as well. It's an embarrassing problem for many people which may lead to anxiety, reduced self-esteem, depression and sometimes thoughts of suicide (rare case).

You've heard in your teenage life that does not eat chocolate otherwise you'll have pimples. This is a complete myth as chocolates have no direct link to acne. This is just one myth and we listen to these type of myths daily. So what are the causes of acne and what are the facts and myths? I'll be discussing all
