About this ebook

Julianna Stewart is just trying to finish her auto tech degree, but she can’t seem to master brake repairs or ignore her attraction to her distractingly hot teacher, Mr. Harrison. After spending too many afternoons working on her car with him, she’s can’t stop staring at the stubble on his strong jaw or thinking about him in her steamiest fantasies.

Simon Harrison has some idea why he spends so much time helping Julianna fix her car, but since he’s her teacher, he doesn’t let his mind go down that road. But after he catches Julianna doing something she shouldn’t, things will never be the same between them. He decides to teach her a lesson she won’t ever forget.

    Brake Job

Julianna sat on the floor of the garage with her legs sprawled in front of an aging Oldsmobile and tried not to sigh. The car was mounted on four orange jack stands and seemed to mock her ineptitude from its perch. Tugging at the itchy collar of her navy coveralls, she frowned at the rusty rear brake assembly she was supposed to be working on.

She had no problem diagnosing and fixing a blown head gasket and was reasonably talented with repairing a wiring harness, but this basic repair was always a struggle. Realizing she was slouching, she threw her shoulders back to regain some of her confidence. She had to get over herself—they were just brakes. If she was ever going to graduate with her Associate’s in auto tech, she needed to use this lab to get her shit together.

All the hoists were taken, so she and Joe, her lab partner for the day, were working in companionable silence on the beige sedan in a quiet corner of the garage. Joe had his head stuck under the hood and was replacing the battery and belts while she sat on the concrete floor with the brakes. The calipers on the front disc brakes had been a breeze, but the drum brakes in the back were going to be a bitch, as usual. She took off her plastic safety glasses and finally let herself sigh.

A Chevy pickup served as a protective barrier and blocked the Oldsmobile from view from most of the shop. In theory, she should’ve been able to stop worrying about making an ass of herself in front of everyone as she attempted the repair. She even had notes to help her through it. But instead of getting to work, she kept glaring at the brake drum and idly tapping the handle of the hammer she held in her lap.

If Harrison were here, he would give you so much shit for being afraid of a pair of lousy brakes, she chastised herself.

Grimacing, she squeezed the hammer hard. Did everything have to remind her of him? Outside of quick hellos in the hallway, she’d managed to avoid him
