Caitlin’s 3-in-1
kraft•tex Bag Pattern
Finished bag: 9˝ wide × 14˝ high × 3¾˝ deep
General Directions,
Notes, and Helpful Hints
1. Please read through all directions before you start sewing.
2. Each of these bags has the same dimensions, so regardless of which exterior style you choose, the lining, straps, pockets, and bag assembly will all be the same. The closure and pocket options are also interchangeable and sized to fit any of the bags, so feel free to mix it up and create the bag that works best for you. You just need to choose your exterior style: A, B, or C.
3. When it comes to topstitching, if your exterior fabric and lining fabric are contrasting colors, you may want to match your top thread color to the exterior fabric and your bobbin thread to the lining fabric. Or be bold, and choose a contrasting color for your topstitching to add another design element to your bag!
Throughout the directions, there will be several places that require topstitching.
For the straps, anchor pieces, and handles, the topstitching will be on both edges and down the middle. Figure A
You can also topstitch a decorative strip of kraft•tex down the center. (Trim the kraft•tex, if necessary, so that it fits between the 2 rows of topstitching.) Figure B
