Chapter One

Here’s the report you wanted, Brad, Lenny said, setting the file on Brad’s desk.

Brad Thompson was his boss and CEO of Thompson and Ortiz Law offices. Lenny had a crush on the Alpha werewolf for years. He’d worked his ass off in the past two years—from being the personal assistant of one of the firm’s junior associates, to being Brad’s go-to guy.

Thanks, Lenard, Brad said.

The Alpha looked distracted, not looking up from his computer screen.

Only his mother called him by his real name, but Lenny didn’t mind. Lenny had reminded his boss many times to call him Lenny or Len, but it never stuck. It didn’t matter.  He understood. Brad was a workaholic and had no time for unnecessary pleasantries.

Running Love-Love Valley’s only law firm must be hard work. Lenny excused himself. On his way out, he nearly bumped into a broad chest. He blinked, taking a step back.

Hey, Lenny. Working hard on a Saturday morning? George drawled.

His spine prickled. George was Brad’s younger brother and also, an Alpha. That was where the two brothers’ similarities ended. They might have share the same physical looks, but Brad was the more refined man Lenny’s opinion. George never took to the law books, preferring instead to run his own auto repair shop and getting his hands dirty.

The other Alpha certainly didn’t hold back when teasing Lenny relentlessly whenever Brad wasn’t around. He supposed he could call George a friend. At six-feet-plus George was bulkier than Brad and all of him was made of muscle.

Like Brad, George had a thick crown of dark brown hair, except it wasn’t slicked back. George wore his hair messy, as if George just got off his Harley. Those deep green eyes always looked amused at Lenny’s expense for some reason, as if George knew Lenny kept secrets.

His heart started to race a little faster.

Brad looked perfect in his designer suits, not a crease or fold out of place. His brother was the exact opposite. George favored leather jackets and well-worn jeans. The look suited him. George gave him a longer glance than usual.

His heart ceased beating for a second.

What if George knew his dirty little secret?

No. That couldn’t be true. Despite all his attempts to get Brad to notice him, Brad only saw him as another employee. It hurt, but it didn’t matter. Lenny found another way to soothe all his aches.

If they weren’t familiar with each other, Lenny would have been terrified of George.

Yeah, well, I leave you two alone, Lenny mumbled.
