Chapter 1
You’d think that working the arts and antiquities division of the South Wales Police force would mean tracking down stolen paintings and handcuffing cat burglars. It wasn’t supposed to involve a hostage situation, a shootout, a dead suspect and an injured officer. Bryn Kendrick sat at his desk in the precinct filling out a lengthy after-action report. His partner, Jason Carlisle, was a meter away doing an identical task.
You know we’re both going to be spending a good couple of hours with internal affairs tomorrow,
observed Jason, rubbing his eyes.
Wankers…
Bryn muttered. Yes, I know, which is why I intend to get pissed and laid tonight.
Have someone in mind?
No, nameless is probably better.
Bryn leaned back in his chair.
Then how will you know whose name to scream at the right moment?
Bryn made a two fingered gesture in Jason’s direction.
I’ll pass. I have someone whose name I actually know to see tonight.
Jason grabbed several sheets off the printer as they came out. One scrawled signature and this nightmare is done for tonight anyway.
He laid the sheaf of paper on his desk, signed it and then picked it up and started toward the captain’s office. He stopped and put a hand on Bryn’s shoulder. If you change your mind and want to have a drink with someone you actually know, call me.
Bryn nodded. Jason only rarely played the I’m a decade older and know better than you card.
Mostly of the time their partnership was equal parts hard work and ragging on each other like school boys. It was a good match.
After Jason had departed, Bryn finished the last of his paperwork, and turned it in. The next order of the day was where to go. There needed to be loud music, good beer and hot willing guys, not necessarily in that order. After a few minutes of thought as he walked to his car, Bryn chose a place called Waves.
~
For one night, studying was to be avoided at all costs. Trevor Hannah had spent most of the past week madly working on a physical chemistry lab report, studying for an advanced instrumental analysis test and writing a paper for class in medical genetics. Tonight there was going to be a distinct lack of studying. Tonight he wanted alcohol and music and a fine male body to take to bed.
Waves was a definite place to find the first two and might be a place to find the third. Trevor ordered a Hoegarten and then turned to look back across the dance floor. The bass beat of the music vibrated through him and he enjoyed the sensation. The bartender slid the pint to him, Trevor paid and picked up his glass. Threading his way through patrons, he headed toward some stools along the left wall with the intention of spending a little time drinking his beer and people watching. He didn’t make it to the wall. Trevor ended up stopping and staring. The man at the far end of the bar was tall, blond and looked like he could justify gracing the cover of a magazine. The blond wore a pale blue dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up and dark slacks. Lawyer? Stock broker? Ad exec? Trevor rolled the possibilities around in his head. Not that it mattered much. The guy was sitting alone and if he was at Waves, chances were high he was looking for a hookup. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Trevor crossed to the far end of the bar. An empty glass sat in front of the blond.
Can I buy you another drink?
Trevor offered.
The man turned to look at him. It was one of those top to bottom and back up sweeps. Trevor smiled.
Yeah, I’ll have a Glenfiddich, neat.
Trevor crooked a finger at the bartender and ordered.
American?
asked the man.
Yeah.
On vacation?
No, I’m a student here in Cardiff.
The bartender came back with the drink and set it in front of the blond.
Got a name?
Trevor asked.
Bryn.
The smile Bryn gave him held all sorts of promise.
Trevor.
Bryn knocked back the shot of scotch and stood up. Want to dance?
Yeah, sure.
Trevor took a couple of gulps from his beer and set it on the bar. It didn’t matter that he’d only finished half. He’d buy another later. Following Bryn out onto the dance floor, he admired the nice curve of the other man’s ass.
They spent an hour dancing, which started out as open flirting and progressed to grinding against each other as the pounding beat of the music raged around them. Filmed in sweat, Bryn eventually beckoned for Trevor to follow him to a quieter corner of the club.
Are you interested in getting out of here?
Bryn shouted.
Did you have something in mind?
Yes, absolutely.
Bryn pulled him into a messy open mouth kiss. Still interested?
Lead on.
Trevor followed Bryn outside. His ears were ringing from the sudden change in noise level.
I hope you have an apartment or a house or even a hotel room,
Trevor said. Cause there’s a fifty- fifty chance my roommate’s in my dorm room.
A flat. No roommate.
Trevor grinned.
It took ten minutes to walk to Bryn’s flat. It was a first floor place in a nice looking apartment block. Once inside, Bryn pushed Trevor against the back of the door and kissed him again, grinding his hips against Trevor’s. It was obvious they were both aroused.
Got condoms and lube?
Trevor asked.
Yup.
A bed would be nice, but not required.
Bryn gave a low laugh. Yes I have a bed too.
He began to push up the hem of Trevor’s shirt. I want to see you naked.
That can be arranged.
Trevor cooperated and soon both his shirt and his jeans were a pile on the floor, sneakers kicked off to one side. He pulled Bryn’s shirt tail loose and began to unbutton the shirt. The pale blue shirt joined the pile of clothes, followed by a t-shirt. Bryn toed off his own shoes and then pushed Trevor in the direction of what was probably the bedroom.
Stripping the rest of the way as he moved, Bryn pushed Trevor down on the bed. Mmm, I think we forgot these.
He skimmed a hand down across Trevor’s cock, a layer of fabric in the way. Bryn hooked a thumb in the waistband of Trevor’s briefs and pushed them off as Trevor lifted his hips.
Trevor took a long look at Bryn’s body, wide shoulders, narrow hips, nice musculature. Bryn’s chest was dusted with fine gold hair and looking further south, his prick was long and stiff, jutting out against Trevor’s hip.
Like what you see?
Bryn asked
Yes. Now the question of the day is do you top or bottom?
Mostly bottom, but I’m flexible.
I will happily fuck you ‘til you scream,
Trevor said.
Bryn gave him a smoldering look of desire, and reached into the bedside table. He handed Trevor a package of condoms and a bottle of lube. How do you want me?
There was a teasing tone in his words.
Hard and fast, followed by long and slow, straight on ‘til morning.
Bryn chuckled. I don’t think the word straight applies to either one of us.
Trevor gave him a rueful smile. No, probably not.
He nipped at the side of Bryn’s neck. Bend your knees.
Lots of lube and a couple minutes of fingers, Trevor had Bryn worked loose enough that the man was squirming and groaning. Time for a condom. Hands and knees,
he whispered in Bryn’s ear.
Bryn complied. Trevor rolled on the condom, slicked himself with some extra lube and rose up on his knees behind Bryn. One slow push into tight heat and Trevor could already feel the beginning of the build toward climax.
Bryn moaned, and gasped, Move… do something.
Tilting his hips back, Trevor pulled out a ways and thrust back in. It produced another noise of pleasure from Bryn. A few more careful thrusts swiftly turned into a pounding rhythm. The intensity of the physical sensations eroded Trevor’s usually tightly shuttered mental defenses and he became aware of Bryn’s presence in a way that only heightened what their bodies were doing. He could feel Bryn skidding toward orgasm and it drove his own arousal that much
