Mysteries Of The Adda: An Inquiry On Paranormal Activities
()
About this ebook
Yet it doesn’t matter whether you believe or not: the author’s reports on the mysteries of the Adda will make you explore a gray area that has always held an esoteric charm.
In his book, Alessandro Valsecchi, amateur reporter of ghost-infested places, tells his story after collecting legends, anecdotes, and testimonies as well as visiting and photographing two places shrouded in mystery: the Cemetery of Crespi d’Adda and the Visconti Castle of Trezzo, home to the cruel Bernabò Visconti.
The summoning of creatures that take place in the sinister mausoleum of the cemetery and the moans of the dead wandering in the dark dungeons of the castle will take you on a thrilling tour. Are you ready to believe?
The reports are accompanied by numerous and detailed color photographs.

The word ‘paranormal’ applies to those phenomena, also called abnormal, that are inexplicable according to the laws of physics and science.
However, there are scholars called parapsychologists who claim the existence of unexplained phenomena according to modern scientific laws. The majority of these scholars expect future scientific research to study abnormal phenomena but of course this will not be possible unless a revolution in the current scientific method takes place.
Science fails to recognize the existence of paranormal activities as these phenomena are, as of today, not proven. Even CICAP, the Italian association that investigates alleged paranormal phenomena, has never found a ‘real’ paranormal phenomenon so far.
The Journal of Parapsychology defines as ‘paranormal’ any phenomenon that, in one or more aspects, exceeds the limits of what is deemed physically possible according to modern scientific assumptions.
There is no concrete evidence of the existence of paranormal phenomena so we tend to base our ideas on testimonies and experiments carried out in a non-scientific way. This means that we can never categorically exclude auto-suggestion or fraud.
Centuries ago, natural phenomena, such as extreme weather conditions like the little-known ball lightning for example, were mistaken for supernatural ones. Other phenomena are instead man-made, created to deceive, and it is in this category that we include spiritism. Last but not least, there are people who auto-suggest themselves so strongly they believe they have supernatural powers.
Science exists to investigate what one cannot explain. The fact that paranormal phenomena cannot, as of today, be explained might make us believe their absence. According to science, in fact, a paranormal phenomenon is not ‘inexplicable’ – it simply did not happen.
However, many have travelled to mysterious places, settings of legend, and felt a shiver down their spine. Why?
We all seek strong emotions because they make us feel alive, and the search for paranormal activities – for what cannot be rationally explained by science – is fascinating exactly for that reason. Men live through emotions and adrenaline; boredom is avoided by all.
There are places in Italy where sinister
