I AIN’T AFRAID of no ghost!

Picking up my mug of tea, I took a sip and smiled as my mum sat down to join me. ‘Well, we’ve got quite a bit of work ahead, hey?’ she said, nodding towards the dusty old building behind us.

It was a lovely, quiet afternoon and we’d spent hours clearing out muck and debris from the old farmhouse on the grounds of what was once a famous landmark in our hometown – Codnor Castle.

Mum and I had taken on the project after joining a Trust dedicated to restoring the now dilapidated castle, as well as bringing its surrounding buildings, including a farmhouse, back to life, too.
