INTRODUCTION

This short treatise offers an overview of one of the most controversial movements and terrorist groups of the XXI Century, analysing the infamous ISIS from its creation to the Paris attacks of Friday, November 13th, 2015.

The text is divided into three parts:  the first chapter, is devoted to the history and the birth of ISIS, from the Cold War to the official formation of the Islamic State.

Here, in particular, we will analyse the key periods of the Cold War that constituted the fertile ground for the birth of the terror groups, which gradually came together, until they all had a single flag, that of ISIS.

The second chapter is dedicated to the Isis geopolitical evolution, from small movement of troops to the organisation of a modern state, looking back, also, at the Arab Springs.

Here, some aspects will be treated, such as the structure of the organization, the business relationships, the religious faith the militants profess; it will be clear who are those really fighting in an attempt to stop the Islamic State, but also who are the Western Powers involved in the clashes.

Finally, in the third chapter, we will analyse the most important events that shocked the West and that perhaps contain something much darker than, we ordinary civilians, can imagine.

This third chapter doesn’t mean to propose a conspiracy view of the facts, but simply wants to devote space to those theories that are making their way and, too often, seem to confirm the audio-video evidence or testimony of the repentant.

Overall, we always pray for the affected civilians, of every race, nation and religion. May they rest in peace.
