Book Abstract
Molly Ivins was one of the best-known and most influential journalists in American history. She’s been compared to Will Rogers, Mark Twain, Ambrose Beirce, and even Lenny Bruce. She was also a fastidious self-chronicler, saving anything she deemed to be important. At the height of her career, she began giving it all away to the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at the University of Texas in Austin.
In Molly Ivins: A Rebel Life, the authors attempt to outline Ivins’ roots and show the fascinating path that led to her singular American presence.
