The Chronicles of Anúrth: Origins: Volume 1

About this ebook
How did some of the main characters in The Chronicles of Anúrth begin their journeys? This short novella includes five short stories which describe how the Sorcerous Duo, the Saint, the Guardian, the Six and the Lieutenant end up embroiled in the War for the World.
While the Sorcerous Duo must deal with problems of a familial origin, Origins describes the creation (and the creator) of the Six. A holy legend from the past is incarnated into a not-so-pious author and the Guardian of the Caravan has an unwelcome visitor. Even one of the Dark Lord's lieutenants was at one time not enthralled by the Master of Móvalith. These words, though short, recount the beginning of several converging stories which are only hinted at in the first installment of the Chronicles of Anúrth. If you enjoyed following the Exile on his journey from his homeland, then these short stories are for your reading pleasure.

Hi! I'm Simon, creator of the fantastical and Magickal world of Anúrth. I originally started the book in 2012 during a year abroad in Guadeloupe, in the Caribbean (I was studying French, Spanish and German at university at the time). The characters were my companions during my stay there and followed me home, and wouldn't leave me alone until their story was told! I currently work for the financial industry, but the story continues! Book two is currently being drafted and I plan on having a blast while doing it. I know it sounds very cliché, but my main hobby is reading. I love nothing more than loosing myself in a fantasy or sci-fi world. Second to that would be my two dogs; Sootie and Sweep. They keep me hopeful in a world already full of disaster.

Chapter 1: The Sorcerous Duo
News had not yet reached the realm of Jâhrin about a deadly attack on his brother country. Evil and powerful beings had sacked a strong fortress-tower in the northern land of Féhrin, though the King of that country had yet to respond. It was basically an act of war, and once word did spread, fingers would be pointed in one direction only. To the Dark Lord.
Until the capital of the South heard of the incident life would go on as normal. However, there were two very well-known Men who did not squarely fit in that box
Disastrous!
Said Porin loudly.
No, doesn’t sound right.
Parin replied, turning a yellowed page in a heavy leather-bound book. Try ‘dangerous’.
His twin did so, more enthusiastically as the last suggestion. Parin shook his head again. "No, still doesn’t sound right!" He sighed and licked his thumb to better flip pages. The book gave off a smell only a librarian would appreciate, but it was completely lost on the twins.
Porin, the Man who was trying out the words, sighed. Both wore the same clothes – a red leather waistcoat covering a baggy white shirt and worn brown trousers – and had the same voice. Only the twins could tell themselves apart, and they often used it to their advantage. They were just outside of the great library in Jahrán, taking advantage of the peace and quiet to debate their destiny. Neither had a stable line of work, and relied on each other to get by.
Parin sighed, too. They had a great task before them. Having decided on their new name – the Sorcerous Duo – the twins had begun to look for an adequate slogan, something that they would say at
