About this ebook
Dom Medina is in a rut. Left by his lover, Dom looks for meaningless fights, makes horrible pick-up lines, and his cholesterol levels are off the charts. When his cousin, the Alpha of the New Haven pack sets him up on a blind date, Dom decides to clean up and start doing some cardio. He’s dead-set on making Parker his, even if he has to fight a war on his own.
Omega wolf Parker is desperate. Rogue shifters have killed off his pack and taken over his town. When he reaches out to the powerful New Haven pack, he never expected the Alpha to send out his best man. Except Dom seems to think this is a date, not a job. Parker needs to focus on his vengeance, but Dom’s making it hard. The dominant wolf fights like a demon but is terrible at the dating game. Despite Dom’s flaws, Parker’s beginning to fall for the rough, but unexpectedly sweet dominant wolf. If he’s not careful, Dom might just end up owning both his body and his heart.

Chapter One
Dom, you stupid piece of shit. Wake up.
A harsh voice jolted him awake. A boot to his ribs followed.
Dom groaned, but a growl came from him instead. He opened his eyes to slits. His head pounded, probably the aftereffects of excessive drinking. It said plenty when a werewolf did manage to get drunk. He must have downed eight, maybe ten bottles of beer.
Aches flared all over his body and Dom didn’t need to examine himself to know fresh rake marks covered him. Thinking about last night’s events hurt his brain. Insults had been slung, his wolf got riled up. A fight followed. What else was new?
Don’t make me warn you again.
Aggressive energy rolled off the speaker. His wolf woke inside him, sensing a threat. He blinked a couple of times until he could make out the ripped figure of his cousin Carlos, the Alpha of the New Haven pack.
Kill him. Take his place, a nasty voice inside him said.
His hackles rose. Dom ran his tongue over his fangs, tasting old blood. His paws wouldn’t obey him. No one was killing anyone at this rate.
Change back, Dom. Don’t make me hurt you,
Carlos warned, eyes blazing golden with anger. He cracked his knuckles. We’re out in the woods. There’s no one here to witness me pummel you to a bloody pulp.
Dom didn’t want that. Once upon a time, he could have taken his cousin, had the potential to be Alpha of his own pack. Those days were gone.
Silencing the murderous voice of his wolf, he reached for his human half. For a second, the change wouldn’t come. Carlos narrowed his golden eyes.
Then Dom remembered why he came to New Haven in the first place, what he’d begged Carlos to do. Panic sparked inside him.
Carlos, don’t rush him,
said another male’s voice. Reed, Carlos’s mate, stood by his cousin’s shoulder, looking worried.
Finally, his fur receded. Bones broke and organs reshifted to those to his human half. Forced changes always hurt, but Dom gritted his teeth. He’d stumbled from one embarrassing incident to the next and he was sick of hating himself.
Fuck, man. You got fat,
Carlos muttered.
That comment stung, but it was true. Ever since Dom moved to New Haven, he stopped working out. Heck, he stayed in his shitty rental apartment most of the time, and well…stopped living. Some humans thought all werewolves came from the same assembly line, that they were invulnerable and buff. It was the exact opposite.
Dom worked his ass off to get healthy, to get into shape, to be a man his mate could be proud of. In the end, he fucked everything up. No wonder his ex-lover Warren left him.
Sunlight blinded him. He rubbed at his eyes and realized where they were. His ass sat on dried leaves and dirt. Cool mountain air blew across his face. Scratches covered his chest, already starting to heal.
Why are we in the woods?
he asked, disoriented.
Carlos let out a disapproving sound. Okay, a rumbling growl. Before Dom could say anything else, Carlos stomped over to his pathetic position and roughly yanked him to his feet.
Dom stumbled. His head spun.
Do you even remember what you did last night?
Carlos demanded, shaking him.
Baby, go easy,
Reed murmured, but Carlos didn’t seem to care.
Last night’s events formed a confusing puzzle in his head. He remembered hitting on a cute guy with blond hair—Dom had a weakness for blonds—tasting someone’s hairy fist, and the sound of crunching bone. Scowling, he rubbed at his already healed but still crooked nose. No hope for that, given it wasn’t the first time someone had broken it.
I got woken up at five in the fucking morning with a call from the police, telling me one of my fucking wolves got into a bar fight,
Carlos hissed.
I’m not one of yours, even though we’re related by blood.
His answer only seemed to enrage Carlos, who shoved him so violently his back hit the nearest ash tree. God. Dom wanted to throw up, but he swallowed instead. Throwing up on the feet of the Alpha of the New Haven pack wasn’t the best idea, especially since Carlos seemed intent on gutting him.
Be thankful you’re my fucking cousin. You haven’t pledged to my pack, but even your dumb brain should know that a guest of the pack needs to follow rules.
Dom shut his eyes. Nausea hit him hard.
Look at me when I’m talking to you.
"Carlos, dude. Stop.
