Chapter One

Tim Stuart nervously sipped his beer, content to watch the office Christmas party from his safe corner.

Safe. That was the best word to describe him. Everyone else at Omega Securities let their hair down, turned on their wild side once office hours were over.

Tim loosened his tie a little, giving the crowd another glance. Men and women, humans and paranormals, chatted over the sound of ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’.

His target? Nowhere in sight, or so he thought.

A slap on his shoulder made him jump. Tim squeaked, seeing his boss and crush of two years, Cole Carlson. Damn werewolves and their ability to move quietly. Cole was a big guy too.

What are you doing, hiding in one corner? Cole asked in that deep sexy voice of his.

Tim suppressed a shudder. How often did he dream of Cole’s voice? Back in his lonely apartment, he’d jack off to fantasies of his powerful, charismatic and gorgeous boss night after night.

He made tiny red ‘X’s on his desk calendar, counting down the days to the Christmas party, where he’d finally make his move. Confess to Cole.

His courage withered every second. Now, Cole stood inches from him, arms crossed as he gazed at his staff. Despite the tailored suit Cole wore, Tim could see the shifter’s biceps and triceps bulging.

While Cole surveyed the crowd, he took the chance to admire his boss—from top to bottom. Like always, Cole looked impeccable, beautiful, untouchable. Not his.

Cole wore his dark brown hair cropped, military style. Fuck, but he was handsome in a rough kind of way, made badass with his scars and ink. A bad-boy shifter all nicely wrapped in a suit.

What more could Tim ask for?

Tim knew everything about his boss. Well, silly stuff like the address of Cole’s dry cleaners, Cole’s favorite take-out food. That sort of thing. He wanted to know more though, to cross the line from employee to lover.

Party’s getting lively, Cole remarked.

Tim followed his gaze.

Office drunks hovered over the special punch, right under the sign that read ‘Omega Securities Christmas Party’. Underneath the dancing snowmen was the security firm’s motto.
