LUCAS BRANDT WAS unofficially staking out Mrs. DuLane’s Caddy to prove preferential parking treatment when he heard a woman scream. He turned, hand going for his gun, but he wasn’t fast enough.

SPRING IN SUTTER’S Fork. Nell had almost forgotten what it was like to stroll down the bucolic main street, the warm sun on her face, all the familiar shops and landmarks guiding her way.

Almost, but not quite. In the two years she’d been gone, she’d experienced Bali, the Russian Steppes, Greece, Macchu Pichu, Malta, Israel, and South Africa. None of those exotic, empowering places had been able to wipe Sutter’s Fork away.

She wasn’t sure if that pleased her or annoyed her.

But once she spotted Lucas, everything faded into the background except sheer delight.

She leapt into his arms and remembered, without really ever forgetting, the feeling of his long hard body pressed against hers.

And then—yowsa!—she felt something else long and hard pressing into her, and she almost lost her grip on him. Lucas’s erection grinding against her made every erotic nerve in her body fire up and say "Want. Now."
