About this ebook

In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whale Ship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick | Summary

Book Preview:
One of the things that makes this book so much more interesting is that there are different accounts from different persons who went through the ordeal, as well as experiences of past and more recent men who have been in the same or similar position as the men of the Essex.
This book highlighted the fight, bravery, and sacrifice these men went through from starting off by doing something their forefathers did and then watching it turn into their worst nightmare while still waiting for divine intervention to come to their rescue. They gave up their homes and families to be at sea for years at a time and if they were lucky enough to make it home alive, would only have a couple of months to spend with their loved ones.
