Kate Elliot comes to her sister's home in the States to find her shot and bleeding, her four year old missing. She flies to Paris, France, to help find her niece, Sophie. Against the orders of the FBI agent. Marcus O'Brian, she continues searching for Sophie, although once she barely escapes being taken off in a cab from the airport, she ends up working with Marcus. Sadly, I found that this was a Love-Inspired Suspense book from Harlequin; I've read this author before, but it was more mainstream type romance/thrillers. It was a quick read, done for a challenge.
