About this ebook
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a dragon.
Fitzwilliam Darcy of Pemberley has the good fortune to be in possession of the first English firedrake egg laid in a century. Or, at least, he was until some miscreant stole it.
Mr. Darcy tracks the thief to Hertfordshire. Catching the thief, however, proves to be an entirely different kettle of brimstone, especially when he encounters fellow
Dragon Keeper, Miss Elizabeth Bennet of Longbourn.
Elizabeth Bennet's deep connection to dragons and remarkable grasp of their lore make her the ideal companion for finding the egg. It's too bad that from their introduction she finds Darcy arrogant, conceited, and selfishly disdainful of the feelings of others.
Time is running out for Darcy to win Elizabeth's trust and recover the precious egg before it hatches, and the fragile peace between humans and dragons is lost
forever.
Meryton meets Pern in a fantastical regency romp bound to delight readers of Jane Austen and Anne McCaffrey alike.
Book 1 in the Jane Austen's Dragons series.
Maria Grace
Though Maria Grace has been writing fiction since she was ten years old, those early efforts happily reside in a file drawer and are unlikely to see the light of day again, for which many are grateful. After penning five file-drawer novels in high school, she took a break from writing to pursue college and earn her doctorate in Educational Psychology. After 16 years of university teaching, she returned to her first love, fiction writing. She has one husband, two graduate degrees and two black belts, three sons, four undergraduate majors, five nieces, six more novels in draft form, waiting for editing, seven published novels, sewn eight Regency era costumes, shared her life with nine cats through the years and tries to run at least ten miles a week.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed reading this variation of Pride and Prejudice and how the author created a world with dragons that seemed so easy to imagine. I loved all the characters and getting to know all the dragons and their different personalities. While this book didn't leave off on a cliffhanger and could leave off here I definitely do want to read more of this series to find out what happens next and how Elizabeth and Darcy's relationship will develop later in the series since they haven't reached an understanding yet by this point.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I love this idea. the book was enjoyable to a point. However, the level Mr. Darcy was insufferable and why was a bit much and got annoying, as well as how quickly and badly Elizabeth jumped to conclusions. If you enjoy Pride and Prejudice and fantasy though, I would recommend this book
