Dragons in the Office

About this ebook
Dragons in the Office takes a humorous, somewhat offensive look at what life might be like in a 'modern' fantasy world.
Trials, tribulations, and tax returns are all part of daily life in Generica. Long gone are the days of great heroes. So what problems does this fantasy world now face, in an era of supermarkets, cars and the internet?
Can dark elves of the night work in the lighting section of a store? How can we get more dragons into the workplace? Is destroying villages part of Cave Giant culture? Should Shadow Death magic be legal? All these questions and more will be explored...

I'm Nick, a 24 year old writer living in only-sometimes-sunny south-west Devon, England. I've recently published my third fantasy book, The Shadow of A Star, and I am working on several new projects at the moment.I'm using Smashwords to publish my short books for free. You can find my other works on Amazon:Book 1: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01F2ARIM0/Book 2: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01F2C1FPOBook 3: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01JEUV1T0/I'm so happy that I've had such a wonderful response to my books, both online and in real life. It's a privilege to have such generous people read my work.Writing is important for me. I wouldn't say that it's an escape from the lively world, but rather a well into which I can pour my pent-up creative energy.Alongside writing, I enjoy fitness, martial arts, gaming, shooting, skiing, and a plethora of other things that keep me busy and entertained! I've got plans for my career, but don't worry - I'll keep writing so long as people enjoy it!Thank you for visiting my page. I hope you enjoy my book!

Part One – Generica: Another World with Dragons In It
Generica is an ancient land of elves, dragons and great beasts. In the days of might and magic, great armies clashed, adventurers discovered ancient treasure, and wizards fought atop dark towers. It lasted for thousands of years, new heroes and villains rising across the ages.
The people of the past were stupid. How can you go for thousands of years without inventing something new? Elves sat around philosophising for hundreds of years beneath waterfalls, and not one of them ever thought, ‘We should really do something about that plague thing.’ We know better now and we’re infinitely better than those barbarians of the past with their
