I’m probably in the minority, but occasionally in the slow hours of the afternoon — between lunch and 4pm — I listen to BBC Parliament. During these ‘slow hours’ my attention span is at its lowest and, for some reason, the guffaws, general nonsense and hot air of the House of Commons seem to keep me focused.
On 2 February though, for the first time in ages, BBC Parliament became a distraction. The debate before the house centred around the British deer population and the Government’s proposed deer management strategy. Sir Charles Walker, MP for Broxbourne and chairman of the Country Food Trust, had put forward the debate on wild deer management and sustainable food. The whole speech was 30 minutes long and I do suggest that Shooting Times readers take a look. It was brilliantly put.
