About this ebook
The Second World War has just finished, doggy food supplies are desperately short, and the Terriertorial Army has discovered that all its carefully-saved treats have been stolen in a daring raid by a marauding pack of bulldogs from across the Channel. Major Freddie, the Airedale commander, calls an emergency meeting of all the terriers. How will Sergeant Jack the Jack Russell, Melvyn, Lucky, Willy and the rest of the four-footed army get their treasured nibbles back - and stop the greedy Seedric and his companions from getting their paws on their food again? Described by the author as 'a sort of doggy Dad's Army', this story will delight children aged seven to eleven.

Introduction
After the Second World War ended in 1945, there were shortages of supplies of food of all kinds across the whole of Europe. In England and France food had been rationed for some years, and it was not only humans that were suffering. Dogs were having a hard time of it too. Feuds and skirmishes between the canine populations on both sides of the English Channel were continuing as the dogs from both nations battled for the tastiest treats.
The dogs along the south coast had found themselves on the front line. In Devon, responsibility for keeping the supplies safe lay with a brave band of doggy allies – the Terriertorials.
Meet the leading dogs in the Terriertorials:
Freddie
Breed – Airedale
Rank – Major
Background – Worked in an office. Chosen to lead a combat division in the SDS (Special Dog Service) overseas during the war, but never joined because of a bout of ‘dog cough’ brought on by staying in a kennel when his master was away from the farm for a fortnight. There were some in the Terriertorials who thought this was rather too convenient for Freddie!
