Monster Goats & Where To Find ‘Em

My passion for goat hunting began at the ripe old age of 14 when my father took my brother and me into the mountains east of Walcha. Despite our limited firepower, we were very successful and came home with some great trophies. That sparked an obsession for goat hunting which has spanned more than 40 years.

DESPITE plenty of effort, as my teens came to an end I still hadn’t bettered my 33-incher from Walcha. I was fortunate to attend university at Armidale and was privileged to gain access to private properties. Goats were at the top of my list and I still recall an exhausting day climbing mountains with my mate Jimmy-Joe where we bagged an incredible billy in the mid 30’s.
