Brieale Sound (pronounced: Bre’elle) is a southern author who has an unnatural obsession with coffee, The Walking Dead, and video games. Most of the time, you can find her writing or reading a juicy romance. She can cuss like a sailor (mainly alone in her car) and is a hopeless romantic at heart. She loves animals, especially, her four crazy, rambunctious dogs. (Don’t worry, she owns stock in lint rollers) Brieale started writing erotica because she loves to read smut! Nuff said!!

    CHAPTER 1

The beautiful South Pacific water sparkled like tiny diamonds across the surface. Luna Mathews stared through the small, dirty airplane window to the distant islands. Soon she’d be exactly where she’d always pictured herself. Attaining the job of Assistant Manager for a posh hotel was only a means of living. It was the island she’d always dreamed of, and it beckoned her like an itch she had to scratch. Every picture of the island of Bora Bora she’d come across was either pasted to her bedroom wall or bound in a homemade wish book. Now, her dream was coming to fruition, and she couldn’t stop smiling.

She studied the few passengers around her; a couple holding hands across the aisle caught her attention. No words were spoken, but she saw their passion. Maybe they were newlyweds, and this was their honeymoon, or maybe lovers off to have a tryst in paradise. At twenty-two, Luna had never experienced a whirlwind romance. Not like the ones she’d seen in mushy romance movies or read about in books. Only two men had ever gotten close to stealing her heart and her virginity; both had given up trying to break through her impenetrable shell. She blamed herself for never letting anyone in. Raised by a single mother might have had something to do with it. At least, it’s what she told herself, but deep down, she knew absent daddy issues wasn’t the main malfunction. It all boiled down to trust and the right man. She hoped to find him on a white sandy beach surrounded by a crystal clear ocean.

Luna’s breath caught as the small, twin-engine plane banked hard to the left. A deep vibration rose up from the floor under her feet. A loud POP filled the small cabin, and the plane pitched forward, nearly nose down. Luna clutched the seat cushion with all her might as the plane plummeted toward the ocean. The other passengers’ screams echoed in her ears. The passionate couple was stretched across the aisle in a locked embrace and professing their love. Luna couldn’t think, or speak and her breath sputtered in small gasps. In utter shock, she braced for impact.

    ***

Luna’s eyes fluttered barely open. A white light flooded her vision, and she squeezed her lids shut. Was she dreaming? Reaching out, she tried to block the onslaught that blinded her, but her arm fell back to the bed in terrible pain. The sound of deep voices mumbled indiscernible words nearby and echoed around her. Where was she? One minute she was staring out at the South Pacific, and the next, she was lying in a bed, dizzy and weak. Who’s there? she breathed. Her voice barely audible. The light went dark.

Just lie still, said a male voice.

She blinked trying to glimpse her surroundings. The room was dark except for a soft glow from somewhere beside her. Adjusting her head, she saw the flickering flame of a lantern perched on a bedside table. Above her a ceiling fan gently turned; the movement made her nauseous. Where am I? She didn’t have the strength to speak above a whisper.

You’re safe now. Get some rest, and we’ll talk in the morning.

The glow faded until there was only darkness. The last thing she heard was a squeaking sound somewhere nearby.

    ***

Red shown through Luna’s eyelids and the strong smell of marijuana overwhelmed her. It was utterly quiet except for the subtle sound of water in the distance and an occasional cry of a bird. God, was she still dreaming, or had she made it to the hotel? Luna eased open her eyes, she gasped and jerked away from the man sitting in a chair next to her.

Here, this will help with the pain, he said and put the half-smoked joint to her lips. Go on, he urged.

The pain was bad, but she’d never smoked the stuff herself. Although she had a few friends who partook, one of them for migraines. What the hell could it hurt, her body felt broken. Luna sucked the smoke in too fast and sputtered out a cough.

    Slowly, he warned. Try again.

Luna did as she was told; the smoke filled her lungs, and she released it slowly. Where am I and who are you? she asked pushing his hand away.

    Do you remember anything?

I was on a plane heading for Bora Bora, and I… She trailed off as her mind replayed the horrible crash. The plane went down, she finally whispered.

I’m Ben. My brother Sam and I rescued you from the plane. You nearly drowned, but other than the gash on your arm and a few bumps and bruises, you’re in one piece.

The others? She watched Ben shake his downcast head. Tears welled in her eyes and slid out the corners disappearing in her long blond hair. Her mind pictured the couple holding hands and staring at one another adoringly. Happy one moment, and in a flash, they were gone. Luna tried to sit up, but fell back on the pillow, dizzy. The pot had helped a little; the only pain she felt was coming from her left arm. I need to sit, she said reaching out for help.

Ben jumped from the squeaky chair and slid his hand under her upper back. Take it slow. He guided her to a sitting position while she swung her legs over the side of the bed. With both hands braced on her shoulders, he knelt down so he was at her eye level. You’re really lucky to be alive. He smiled thoughtfully.

Now that she was sitting right in front of him, she got her first real look at the man. He was gorgeous. His long black hair laid in soft waves around his gentle face. Straight, white teeth gleamed against his tanned skin and his deep brown eyes appeared compassionate and kind. She couldn’t look away from the muscles that protruded from—everywhere. He definitely had better than a six-pack; it was an eight for sure. Can I have a drink of water? she asked and tore her eyes away from the man.

Ben chuckled. Sure. Don’t move, I’ll be right back.

Moving was the last thing on her mind; she was sure it would end with her face-planted on the hardwood floor. The room was beautiful and a warm breeze swept through touching her skin. Turning to look behind her, she found a sheer curtain dancing rhythmically as the salty wind brushed by her. The ocean’s surf crashed somewhere outside. She couldn’t see it, but she knew it had to be close. Everything in the bedroom was white except for the rich mahogany furniture. It was definitely a man’s room.

    You’re awake.

Luna gasped and turned back around. A man wrapped in a white towel entered the room. The towel hung low on his hips exposing his deep V-shaped muscles. He was built exactly like Ben. Before her eyes betrayed her more, she connected with his gaze. Her breath caught in her throat, he was nearly identical to Ben. The only difference: this man had short hair. Twins, she thought. How long was I out?

Three days, he said facing away. Glancing back at her, he let the towel fall to the floor.

Luna turned her head, but not before she got a good look at his ass. Damn, the man was built, and she knew her face had to be beet red. With her eyes cast downward, it was the first time she’d noticed the white t-shirt she wore, and that was all she was wearing. Where are my clothes? she choked out, wondering which one of them had the honor of removing them.

They were soaked and your shirt was beyond saving. You bled a lot.

Luna glanced over at the bandage on her arm. She lifted one edge and winced. To her surprise, the jagged, four-inch wound had been stitched up. You did this? She looked back at the twin just as he pulled on a pair
