    Chapter 1

    WHY BEVERLY HILLS?

No two words evoke Hollywood or L.A. or the particular style of glamor associated with the movie business than Beverly Hills.

The very mention of the name brings to mind famous stars sitting around the pool at the Beverly Hills Hotel or sipping cocktails in the Polo Lounge.

But what Beverly Hills is today is basically a lot of homes of the rich and famous (on the north side of Santa Monica Boulevard, which cuts the city in half) and the famous shopping and business district (on the south side of the Boulevard).

And whether you’re here to take a tour of the stars’ homes or to stroll down Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills offers one of the special experiences (indeed, of many) to be found in L.A.
